Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

Chili size. Like a chili burger, but better.

[Everyone puts avocado on stuff and calls it "California style" but the actual true "California style" would be "just put an obscene amount of chili on it." Everything can be improved with a lot of chili.]

Why is it even called that? It makes no sense.

Because a chili burger has a burger size amount of chili and a chili size has a chili size amount of a chili.

Right. It sounds about as appealing as it looks, honestly. So you're ordering that much food just to see what they can or can't make.

I also want to know what "to the best of their abilities and patience" means. Besides, what else is there to do here? At least unhealthy food gives me a reason to exercise.

[She probably won't eat all of it, but she was planning on eating at least some of it.]

Presumably it means "until someone gets sick of it and decides to murder us all," I'd say.

That would go against what the Professor said, wouldn't it? I mean, why else would you limit our contact with the staff to a single person?

I didn't mean the staff, not that we know much about that girl. I meant the murder incentive, obviously. Kill and escape?

Oh, I don't care about that. I've survived being eaten by a shark, I think I can survive someone trying to kill me. I want to know what the consequences of stretching the rules are.

You've -- I'm not even going to ask. Go right ahead, then, as long as you don't end up wasting the food for everybody else. I eat too, you know.

If there was any sort of rationing in place, it would have been a rule. Or at least mentioned. T=If this facility can apparently house us all for basically an eternity, I doubt we'll run out of food.

All right, theoretically, yes, but they might not have calculated for ordering with reckless abandon.

Have you seen some of the people here? I don't think that priest got that tall by only eating tofu, is all I'm saying. Besides, if you're gonna put a fitness center in then you can't be assuming everyone's just gonna eat a salad.

[Like, Nova enjoys a good salad sometimes but also what is the point in life if she can't eat cake?]

Oh, fine. Still, that's a little more than I'd expect even from these people. Though the Professor certainly knows more than he should.

Seriously? You've never seen a a teenage boy eat, then.

[This is honestly barely more than she would eat in a day if she was gonna do a pretty intense workout. Maybe not these foods exactly, though. The cotton candy is a bad choice for workout fuel.]
