WEEK 1

Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

[Things Nova has never heard anybody say: casseroles are a good thing. Then again, every time she goes to London it seems like the only edible food is fish and chips so maybe UK food really is just that bad.]

Hashtag God Bless America. [That's just a joke for her.] It's true, though. America's not so bad when we're not trying to start wars for no reason.

I know, right? I once went to America for work. A friend said New York was like a bad-tempered Disneyland and she wasn't wrong. Not too bad of a place, all things considered!
reallyhatesharks: (so warn that guy in the sharknado)

Bad-tempered Disneyland? [Nova laughs.] Yeah, that's pretty accurate. West coast best coast, but New York's pretty cool. Cleaned up well after the sharknado attack.

After the what attack?

[Sounds like juicy info!]
reallyhatesharks: (there's no place you can hide)

Right. None of you have ever heard of sharknados. [Still sounds fake but whatever!!!] They're an ancient weather phenomena where I'm from. Tornado plus sharks: sharknado.

[She can go into the actual mechanics of a sharknado, but it's kind of hard to explain to someone who's never seen one.]

Oh. I should have guessed something like that could happen. The sea is such a cruel thing.

[Shelley, it's a weather phenomena, the sea didn't decide to throw sharks at everything all of a sudden.

But yeah, apparently Shelley immediately considered sharknados completely plausible]

How do you even prepare against a sharknado?

Depends on what you're trying to accomplish. The answer is mostly "you don't," though. They're unstable and volatile so you grab whatever firepower is nearby, blast the fuckers to kingdom come, and hope everyone actually survives.
