Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

It sounds really important... and it was just here, waiting for anyone to receive it? [ The fuck. ] I'm glad it found its way back to you quickly, at least.

That seems to be the case.

[There is a harshness in her voice when she speaks.] It was said to be lost to history... I have only seen drawings of it, myself, but there is no mistaking it. How could he have found it?

[ Ah, well... it's impossible to miss it. Then again, it's an important relic. ]

... That's... [ She actually looks pretty shaken at that. ] Bringing so many strangers from so many places into a facility like this-- I thought he might have some powerful abilities, but this is entirely something else.

Some of the other artifacts I could understand but this...

[She shakes her head quickly.]

I am sorry. This worries me. [But, she guesses, she probably should change the subject?] I... suppose I could say what it is.

[philoxenia]

No--it's alright. It would startle anyone who'd know what it is, I think.

[ She pauses. ]

If it's not a problem, I... can't say I'm not interested.

Supposedly this chalice was for the purpose of bringing the goddess back to the world. Saint Seiros herself was involved with it.

[Her grip tightens just a bit.] I only know of the legend since I am a bit of a collector of ancient scripture.

[philoxenia]

[ Well... she wonders if her discomfort is obvious, once Rhea mentions the goddess. (Probably; she's always been transparent...) ]

Ah... no wonder it's a shock to see it here, beside its being lost to history. [ A frown. ] It... sounds powerful, if the legend is true.

It was a dismal failure.

[She does notice. Odd... but well, some people are like that. Rhea, however... sounds disappointed.]

Those that helped create the ritual were scattered to the winds so that the ritual could never be performed again. By itself this chalice should be harmless.

... Even if the ritual can't be performed, it's still probably best that it's with you now, isn't it?

[archboxer]

Yes. There are thieves here who would be appeased by the price of the materials alone.

[philoxenia]

[ Ah. Well..... ]

Then... I'll keep it a secret. It wouldn't do to finally find it and then lose it again.

I would appreciate that, Mira. It can be our secret.
