WEEK 1

Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
FRIDAY | SATURDAY

[ ooc: Welcome to Peace Week! Enjoy it while it lasts. Remember, office hours for The Professor's Assistant are over here if you're interested, while regains can be deposited over here! ]

[ Privately, with her back still turned towards the television and 7000 tons of hair conveniently obscuring her face, her eyebrows rise skeptically at the sound of the laughter — but the rest of it seems like he's being agreeable enough. ]

Exactly. Now we're trapped here, with nothing to do but talk. Anything worth knowing in a profile is something anyone with half a mind can figure out for themselves.

That's what I've been doing, at any rate. You're all interesting people, seems a shame to not get to know you all myself.

I wouldn't go that far. But fine — if you've got any questions, let's hear them.

Tell me about the most impressive thing you've fought and we'll work from there.

Let's see.

[ It's Lapis, of course. As long as Rose Quartz continues to disappoint her, it'll always be Lapis. She's never suffered, and never struggled, the way she did when they were Malachite... but she's not about to just explain all of that. The next logical mental leap is simple, though. Practically the second they stopped holding back, that other abomination showed up. ]

About thirty of your feet tall [ thank god for alice ], with two mouths and six arms. She was able to rotate her upper half independent of the rest of her form, and the lower mouth could breathe fire.

[ He didn't say "fought and won", and who's going to fact check her? Rose is far too busy pretending she's never seen her before. ]

Well, damn.

[He actually sounds pretty impressed with that? I mean, just outside of him being a noncombatant for what's likely obvious reasons, that is badass, goddamn.]

I think the most impressive thing I'd heard about from my own world was a plant about that large. Vines and blossoms everywhere that could move independently of each other. It mostly just wanted to be left alone, I think, it liked to throw acid at people and tried to eat them if they weren't careful in dealing with it.

[...You know, as you do.]

But still, it sounds like you've seen some impressive stuff. I like it.

Sounds like something she would have made. [ And like something she wouldn't mind fighting, honestly. There's not a lot of honor inherent to beating a plant up, of course, but there's definitely a challenge! ] ... anyway, the age he listed for me is right. I've seen a lot of things.

[ As one is wont to do when they're over 5,000 years old. ]

What happened to it?

I actually don't know. The building it was kept in was blown up, so if it wasn't dead before then, it was probably dead afterwards.

[But that's... Mm. Not sure how he is with that topic, actually.]

Who's this "she" you're referring to? Botanist that you're not fond of?

Rose Quartz.

[ She says it with an entirely undue level of emphasis. ]

She can manipulate organic life and bend it to her will. [ ... ] Well — she could. Even before this place, the ones I went up against weren't too impressive.
fivestagegod: (03. you say you're okay)

[personal profile] fivestagegod 2020-04-13 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[...Holy shit.]

Seriously? That sounds...both fascinating and horrific, impressive or not. Anything created in my world could hardly be said to be "bent to our will", more like we can take a guess at how something will react and if it doesn't, we're pretty screwed.

There's a lot about her you wouldn't know. [ But okay, the second part: ] The way you're saying it, it sounds like you take your chances anyway.
fivestagegod: (10. do you need love)

[personal profile] fivestagegod 2020-04-14 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course we do. Nothing ventured, nothing gained and all.

Everything I hear in this place makes me more surprised you lot manage to live as long as you do.

[ IT'S NOT... OVERTLY CRUEL? ]
