Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

...I'm still looking around. Who knows. Underwater base like this? Big vault door? There's gotta be more to all of it, just have to find the right cracks.

Yeah. And that's where people like us can slip through.

[He's quiet for a while, considering, and then he bobs his head towards the locked door behind them--not the vault, but the one on the south side of this space, near the vending machine.]

There's that unmarked space on the map. The one between that other locked door and the room with the grey machine.

[He follows Therion's head bob, eyes trailing past him to the southern area- northern? what was direction when you were underwater? -and that space. He hadn't cared to inspect the vending machine too carefully, though that may change with time. But there were other spaces he was interested in.]

Hey, look at that. Now you're thinking. Something tells me all that space isn't reserved just for a vending machine.

[Therion doesn't know what a vending machine is, but sure, you funky talking Ratkin.]

...I admit I'm at a disadvantage here. It's hard to find what's out of place when nothing's familiar.

[They still use warded locks in Orsterra, like, damn. What's he even supposed to do here?]

But I'll keep looking with my methods. If yours turn up anything, will you let me know?

I take it you don't visit many secret, underwater bases?

[It always sounds like a joke, but he's genuinely curious.]

Can't visit what isn't possible, in my world.

[He spreads his arms a bit to indicate the facility--the walls, the lights, the ocean outside the windows. Come on, Sly, he's dressed like a waif lost from the local Renaissance festival.

It's actually the last bit, though, that makes him shift his weight back slightly, then close his eyes with short sigh.]

No promises. I've learned to work alone. I think we'll be able to confirm each other's discoveries, that's all.

Fair enough. [Shrug.] Sorry to tell you, but depending on how everything goes here, you're probably going to be seeing a lot of places you never knew existed.
