WEEK 1
Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...
The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
FRIDAY | SATURDAY
[ ooc: Welcome to Peace Week! Enjoy it while it lasts. Remember, office hours for The Professor's Assistant are over here if you're interested, while regains can be deposited over here! ]

Up next is the vending machine... She has a lot of coins, so she'll be here for awhile. You can find her jumping out of the way to avoid sea water spilling out (three times) or maybe she's trying to figure out how she got a massive purple sword from the machine. She's no scientist, but that's now how anything works??
Or maybe you've come in to find her carefully picking up a strange stone from the pile. Her expression doesn't give much away, but she seems absolutely fascinated by it and won't look up even if you come on in.
If you're in the mood for some yard sard, you can find Aela in the dining hall later on, where she's taken over a table with stuff she's giving away. She's hanging out in here reading one of those morbid books about murder and she'll look up when you come on over.]
Feel free to take anything you like. I have no use for any of this.
[As a very important side note, The Lusty Argonian Maid (contents are kind of nsfw) is now hanging out in the library in case you want to read that absolute disaster. Do what you will with this cursed knowledge.]
vending machine
That sword...! [Briefly, he's worried--that sword is nothing but trouble to anyone but him because it's one of her weapons, and he's briefly worried that something bad's going to happen. But it's...weird, he doesn't feel anything from it, so his mind focuses on the more baffling matter at hand.] Did that come out of this machine?
[the sheer amount of 'HOW???' is very present in his tone]
no subject
[Judging from her tone, he's not the only one going HOW???]
You recognize this sword?
no subject
[So yeah, it's safe to say Lif recognizes it. Perhaps a little too well. Still, he does get over his surprised awe with the machine to look at Aela.]
...Have you touched it at all?
[It might seem like an odd question, but he needs to ask because it could mean a few things if she did.]
no subject
[One-handed swords are fine, but a massive one like that?? Nah.]
Why do you ask?
[...it's totally some kind of cursed sword, isn't it.]
no subject
...]
It's the sword that Hel gave me, and it has a rather nasty tendency to inflict harm to others who stay near me.
[But he sounds almost incredulous. There's no way...]
But...I feel nothing coming from this sword.
[He's. Honestly not sure if he should be happy about that? Like on one hand, that's kind of good, but on the other hand, this is kind of bad.]
no subject
Perhaps whatever power Hel gave it has been stripped away.
[If the Professor can mess with their bodies and seal off abilities, then removing the enchantment from a sword would be nothing in comparison.]
no subject
He supposes he'll take the little victories where he can, if this could even be called one.]
It would seem so. [...] It really isn't such a terrible thing, really. It's simply that...
[There's a lot of things he could say to that. Maybe that he's happy the curse has been lifted. Maybe that he's worried that Hel's going to take everything he's worked for from him while he's gone. None of it is important to say, but...
Lif shakes his head, honestly. There's no need to focus on it.]
Do you mind too terribly if I take this back?
no subject
Of course I don't. It's far too large for me to wield, anyway.
[Had it been someone else's, maybe her opinion would change, but nah, surely this is fine. Lif isn't going to kill anyone with his bigass evil sword. That's fine.]
no subject
At any rate, Lif will gladly take his sword back--though he has a brief moment of stupidity where he realizes he put that stupid blackberry-esque thing in the sheath and has to fish that out first, but then the sword can go back in. Right where it belongs.]
Thank you. I simply hope that this is the only thing they brought with them from home.
[He will be looking over just about everything else Aela has, though...]
Are you experienced in fighting with any of the other weapons here?
[...Listen, he's a simple man, he has his sword back, HE IS READY TO FIGHT IF SHE IS. Not that he knows about anything else she might have but. It's the simple things in life, okay.]
no subject
At the question, she picks up one of the spears she received, frowning a bit at it.]
Spears aren't common in Skyrim. [not without mods, at least!!] It shouldn't be particularly difficult to learn how to use, but I do have another option.
[She inclines her head a bit, indicating outside the door and back in the direction of the lounge.]
The Professor's assistant was able to get her hands on some training swords at my request. Not nearly as satisfying as the real thing, but that should at least prove useful to keeping our skills sharp.
no subject
Well, Lif's interest is very piqued by Aela's other option.]
You were able to obtain such a thing? [It sounds less like a question and more like vague awe, but either way, he absolutely sounds down for this.] You certainly won't find me complaining about an opportunity to train. I can't say I'd mind an opportunity to stave off the monotony that this place has brought with it thus far...
[...Basically if she's down for it, he'll help her get this stuff back to where ever she needs it to go so they can fight asap.]
no subject
[Which explains why she's got her dumb war paint on again!!]
I would like that. But first, help me move all of this back to my room.
[There's. There's so much stuff. Oh my god. We're gonna have to make several trips...]
no subject
[Huh. He supposes that makes sense. Good on them, at least!]
But of course. Let's get all of this out of the way.
[All that baggage has made him pretty damn strong, so he'll take whatever Aela can't and start carrying it back in trips!! Let's go, girl!]
no subject
Anyway, once everything has been moved back to Aela's room and the seawater left on the floor because that was bullshit and Aela's not going to clean it up—]
Here. [She holds out one of the training swords for Lif to take.] They aren't anything special, but they should prove an acceptable way to test our strength.
[They're standard wooden training swords, nothing impressive here. C'mon, let's head back out into the lounge!!]

Dining hall
...Do you mind if I...?
[She just said he could take anything, but he looks to her as he points to the salve--as if she might change her mind, for a thief.]
no subject
[She gestures for him to take it.]
Do you recognize it?
no subject
Yeah. It's... not mine, exactly, but it was made for me.
[Huh. That sounds like it's a lot more meaningful out loud than it did in his mind. Therion shakes his head.]
You might want to rethink giving it up for free. Works pretty well on scrapes and things.
no subject
If you're so intent on paying me back, then let me ask a favor of you at some point.

no subject
All right. I've agreed to worse deals than a simple favor. And I could use this stuff, after a week.
[The salve vanishes under his cloak.]
no subject
[Therion is one of the people here who is Most Acceptable, so at least there's that...???]
no subject
I'd hope not. Don't think it's in anyone's best interest to annoy a thief when the goal's getting out of somewhere.
