WEEK 2
So far, so good! That might be where you at. No real further word from The Captain seems forthcoming, but also no real further... anything seems forthcoming. You've gathered some new information, but the locations are the same. All you've really gained is... well, rising tension?
How long until someone tries to take The Captain's way out of here? Only time will tell...

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[ ooc: Welcome one and all to your first case week! Don't forget to turn in regains over here, AC over here, and if you want to chat up the NPCs go here for Davy Jones and here for The Captain! ]

Wandering
...
Should he--should he say anything?]
Hi, Plumeria...I'm sorry of this is gonna sound rude, but why are you wearing a dress with this human's face printed over and over on it?
[It's a curious life choice, really]
no subject
Hm? Oh, this ugly thing?
[If Plumeria's bothered by the statement, it doesn't show in the slightest. She is owning this terrible and ugly ass fucking thing, thank you very much!]
It dropped from that vending machine that takes these...very weird coins. [Still, Plumeria grins.] It's the ugliest thing I've ever laid eyes upon, and truthfully, I adore it. It's really as simple as that.
[And she's sure it'll cause psychic damage for someone!! But really, it's just entertainingly ugly.]
no subject
Glad you're enjoying it! After seeing the things that have come out of that machine I was starting to wonder if you were wearing it out of obligation.
['Obligation', he says. More like out of fear of getting cursed by whatever's giving these horrible dummies, bizarre books belonging to Lorna's relatives, and now strange dresses plastered with 70 versions of the same person's face. Everything about that vending machine brings psychic damage]

[Plumeria says that a little haughtily, but not rudely towards Filbo, primly holding her head high while flicking a strand of her vine-like hair.]
...Though I must admit, this is certainly making me question many things about human fashion.
no subject
[Please let it be that, he thinks. He's been turning that line over and over in his head for a week given John said that when they were talking about humans wanting to hook up with a whole bunch of other sapient species as told by the romance books. If he can turn it into a reference to something else altogether he'd be really glad about it]
no subject
...Yeah, perhaps he was. Though I'd wager that's the least of humanity's freakish problems.
[...So yes, but also: no. You sweet summer child.]
But still, humans are rather aesthetically challenged creatures. It's almost sad, but there is still amusement to be had about seeing their very worst.
no subject
[Looks like instead of replacing his suspicions with the clothes part, instead he's adding that to the definition of what John wanted to say. The moment a human hits on him for real instead of kidding around like John is the moment Filbo decides maybe stopping being so sociable for a while could be a good idea.
Golly, what a thing I just wrote there in the meta. The wonders of playing a character that hadn't seen a human before this whole thing]
This ship seems to be full of badly done human things. First the romance books in the library, now this.
[what is this, roast humanity power hour. Filbo may not be saying it with malice, but something about the way he says that with such easygoing tone as if it was such a matter-of-fact thing doesn't remove much of the edge on that, really]
no subject
Though, at Filbo's comment, Plumeria manages something resembling an amused smile--did someone give the go ahead for 'roast humanity power hour', because boy oh boy she's sure taking it as such!!]
Hah! Oh, you're definitely not wrong about that. I mean, I'm willing to call this entire ship a poorly done human thing. But goodness, the romance novels are on a completely different level of awful.
I'm terribly sorry you had the misfortune of reading them as well. Even the promising ones are bogged down in bad human tastes, from my experience...
no subject
[What's up with people around here continuing to do things that are bad for them, goodness gracious. Spare your mind from suffering the onslaught of bad romance, Plumeria, for your sanity]
no subject
[...]
I've read about fifteen or so of them, just to satisfy my curiosity a bit.
[Read: She read the first chapter and skimmed their content afterwards for garbage. But she doesn't say that much immediately, just looking at Filbo's reaction with something of a small, amused smile.]
no subject
[Do yoooooooou like the awful human books, Plumeria?]
...or maybe you just have a lot more tolerance than me when it's about reading. I have never been much of a reader, so...it just didn't grab me right away. It's not like I want to diss the work put in those books despite how bad they are, but they could have done so much better.
no subject
They really could have, couldn't they? Then again, I'm not surprised. Humans do have the tendency to destroy any good thing that they get their grubby little hands on, and truly, they deserve the dissing. But nobody could certainly blame you for not being interested in such things.
[But ah--]
I should admit, though, that I didn't actually read through the books. I really just skimmed right through them until I found the point where they each started going to complete garbage. [Hee hee.] Even the one book I found that had promise completely bungled it at the end...
no subject
[A promising book? Do tell! Even though the ending apparently sucked, haha]
no subject
[Plumeria's look sours shortly after saying that, though.]
And then the man dies taking a wound for the woman that would have killed her, and it's the most clinical funeral scene in all of mankind! Really, all of this set-up just to destroy it? How embarrassing.

[Plumeria sighs a bit, closing her eyes.]
It's unrealistic. I can't imagine what fools who would believe that such a thing truly exists.
[...spoiler: she's fools]

It was so awkward to see their disagreements. When you're all in a tiny village of about a dozen people pretty much everybody knows what's going on with you, you know? So we all knew about how they loved each other very much, but there always was a thing or two that soured their mood, until...well, they split for a while. Each went to live to a different place and refused to see each other for like a month.
[Even though both were hurting and missed each other and all, it all went like that until one caved and apologized]
I mean, they did get together again! And I know they're still together, but...sure made it look like romance is all about compromising.
[And not only them, really. All loving relationships he witnessed in Snaktooth Island involved so much compromising on things a lot]
