So far, good news! You've managed to avoid killing! A week has passed in the facility, but how many more are there to go until one of you tries out Rule Seven? I mean.... we know, but.

No new areas just yet, it remains you guys and yours here for now. Well, and Angel, but again - you don't exactly see her unless you want to. It's more than a little lonely... maybe someone ought to shake things up.

[For a night or two, Rose has tried to keep watch to see who or what might be leaving these mysterious coins in peoples' bedrooms. Thus far, it's been totally fruitless. But today, she's gotten some of those coins herself!

So, first thing in the morning, she goes to the vending machine to try them out. Most of the items get a brief inspection before being set to the side, but her attention seems caught on a large pink plastic shield. It's perfectly her size, with a rose-thorn motif...but she doesn't seem satisfied, rapping on it with her knuckles. Plastic.]

Why would they make this?

[You probably couldn't even kill someone with it - not that her shield's ever been for that anyway.

Still, when she sets up in the dining hall later, with a pile of items spread out on the table in front of her, the shield is not among them. It's mostly just random things, or stuff she got two of. There's a small but shiny diamond sitting on top of the pile, though! It's like it's just begging to be taken away!]

[In the evening, she'll be trying to get people to come into the lounge.]

Look what I got! [It's a copy of Disney's Aladdin.] Come watch it with me!

[It was really more like a giveaway, but she's open to this!]

What kinds of things?

Toys, ugly clothing, used makeup that I'm sure must belong to someone. A few books, too, not that they're helpful.

There's a lot of books in there! I got two copies of that one about parkour.

[One's sitting here, but she held onto the other.]

Maybe someone could make something new out of the clothes?

[No. His poor little jewel-thieving heart can't take this. He's gotta reach over, snatch it up, and put it in his pocket before he can even think of having this conversation.]

Do you know how much one of those is worth?

[She feels better with it out of sight, honestly.]

Nothing. [ooh, okay, went too hard there] We don't have any need for human money. And seeing inert gems is a little weird, anyway.

I have always been more of a Mulan fan, but Aladdin is great too!

I've never seen Mulan! I've never seen this one, either.

Rose likes songs, so it starts off pretty great in her opinion. And then you've got a princess disguising herself to sneak out of the palace, which, well.]

She should go farther away. She's going to get caught.

No, Angel brought it for me! I had asked her if we could have something to watch together, instead of just those pictures. Nobody seems to like them very much.

[Rose enjoys pictures of nature! To an extent, at least!]

The pictures aren't... terrible, and I'm sure we'll be missing them the longer we're in here, but I'm glad Angel was able to bring you something else.

[ Hmmm. Maybe she'll ask Angel for some musicals later. ]

[ The vending machine is weird to Zelos. Not the concept – though different, he'd worked with the Renegades long enough to get accustomed to their heightened level of technology – but the contents. Something about leeches? He didn't know, he wasn't exactly paying too close attention when he read the sign. So he figured come to try and see if he could find anything of interest there.

Obviously, his priorities slightly shift when he sees Rose tapping at the shield in her hands. ]

Is there something wrong with it? It looks like it suits you perfectly, actually!

My real shield is made of light. I've never had a physical one before.

[It's strongish plastic, she supposes, but...]

I think it would break in a real fight.

Lucky you, then! Trying to figure out where to put physical ones when you're done can be such a hassle.

[ Things made of light materializing at will? He knows quite a lot about it. RPG equipment that just disappears and randomly appears at will? No one knows at all. ]

Well, hopefully that means that if weapons come out of this thing, they're not made out of better material than this. And even if not, it's better than nothing, right?

Hey, is that... Whoa! [ She's examining the box. ] Blast from the past! It looks just like when I was a kid! Aside from everyone being covered in fur, I mean.

Really? You recognize it?

[Rose turns the cover around to look at it again, even though she's already seen it. Della's giving her a different perspective!]

Angel made it sound like it was from Earth, but I've never seen it before. I guess I've missed some human things.

Never? Oh, it's a classic! Donald and I--he's my brother--we watched it every day when it came out. ...Okay, mostly I did, he got a little tired after the fourth week, but I got 'im to watch in my own special way.

[ ...She tied him up, is what she means, but- ]

I loved this movie. Adventure, action! It's perfect.

Oh! [...she only has the vaguest idea what a movie is but she's figured out enough through communal living osmosis to know it's probably going to be a good time??] I'd love to!
