SECOND TRIAL
[ Once enough time has passed to gather the appropriate information, Davy Jones once again moves to collect any stragglers who don't make it back to the theatre. ]
Step lively, same procedure as the last time!
[ Before long he plays that same complicated song on the organ and, crowded into the elevator, you all descend once more into the depths of the ship. But you might notice as you head down... there's more room in the elevator than there was before, with three of you gone now. Not much, but still. It's noticeable.
The sound of another shanty echoes from the Dutchman below as the elevator reaches its destination, that same foreboding glass room at the very base of the vessel. The sea is dark about you.
The circle of podiums is largely unchanged, though Shard and Adeline's have joined Carmen's in looking nigh hundreds of years older than all the others, rusting and covered in bivalves and seaweed. ]
Ye all seem to have caught on quick to what to do. I be here if any inquiries burn too fiercely.
[ The Captain is late again, it seems, but things are set to start anyway.
Welcome to your second trial. ]

Adeline wasn't in our room, and we found her in the hallway. We should start with that. What did everybody see?
no subject
It's still...disturbing how she was right outside our rooms and none of us heard. None of us stepped in.

[Flayn is. Still quite upset with the entire affair.]
She did once tell me she had once dove deep down into the ocean on her own, but if she had been in that state in the water, I do not think that would be why she was out in the water. Could someone have tried to do what Shard did to...dispose of her?

I inspected Adeline's body. She was killed via strangulation, done with one of the wires from her hair. A good portion of that had been torn out, and I did not see it nearby. She also had bruising on her face. Her chin was particularly damaged, which is interesting - it was reinforced with cybernetics. Her tail was also dented in several places.
[He hesitates slightly before concluding:]
It was difficult to tell how long she might have been dead. But she was still damp with saltwater.

There's no way there was an accident. Nobody accidentally strangles someone.

You probably noticed the Strabby and Vaporeon on the ride down, because Yeager herded them onto the elevator and did not say a damn thing about them. They're here now as well, though someone please save them from Yeager, they deserve better.]
I found these two over in the laser tag room. The strawberry was hiding, but this one was in this!
[He holds up a Pokeball. He doesn't know what Pokemon are or what a Pokeball is?? I'm so sorry.]
This item seemed to have been deliberately placed there; it didn't look like it had rolled away or anything.
I assume that these were both Adeline's, but I don't know that for sure.

What the fuck is that?
[Said while pointing at the Strabby.]

[Filbo's smile tenses when he sees the Strabby]
Adelina had that with her last time I talked to her? I guess that means she had it with her when she was in the laser tag room.
[Filbo approaches Yeager's podium]
I think...uh, I think I'll be taking the Strabby, if you don't mind. At least for the time being.

I investigated the Café; it was actually rather clean and pristine, with nothing really messed with it. That is, until I checked the sink and found these.
[Plumeria presents a rinsed out cup and a plate with crumbs left on it.]
Someone must have made a stop in there in order to eat, at some point during the night.

VEST CHECK
Of course that goes for me as well. [ He'll actually go first before walking around to give everyone a chance to be Cinderella~ . ]

I, uh...I'd like to say for the record that any tears or rips that appear from here on would be kinda my fault?
[He's got a wider frame than a lot of humans around here, after all. You humans and your spindly bodies, geez. Filbo makes sure he doesn't damage the vest, but still, he tries to comply the best he can]

hands and arm check
We've been speaking for awhile now, and though we've clued in on a lower number of possible suspects, it's not enough. I believe it's time to see if we looked a little further into the matter.
Those who we've narrowed it down to based on the vest results, show me your hands and your arms. If you have any gloves, take them off. Roll up your sleeves.
There was a fight. The likelihood of those places in particular being injured are high.

Threat Level: Danger Goose (DG) Cells
Slowly, she reaches up and unravels the entire ribbon from her arm -- a well-worn, crimson ribbon longer than she is tall. She manipulates it seamlessly despite the fact that she's moving more like a sleepwalker than a person, curling it around and around down to the ground.
What was it that Adeline was strangled with, again?
Better be ready, because the next moment Allenby moves like a shot, straight towards the cluster of her fellow cruise ship crew, and her ribbon shoots out to try and lasso the nearest person--]

EXECUTION - FLYING THE SEA
Thought you all might decide to bet on the wrong horse for a while there, but… well it looks like you figured it out after all! The Danger Goose has been found guilty. So, without further adieu... it looks like it’s time for this goose to get cooked.
[ The lights flash off and, in a moment, both Allenby and Davy Jones are gone. The Dutchman has risen. You’re already familiar with what comes next. ]
Let no joyful voice be heard!
[ The Dutchman above creaks. ]
Let no man look up to the sky with hope! And let this day be cursed by we who ready to wake-- THE KRAKEN!
[ The screens come on to a… wider view of the Dutchman’s deck. Davy Jones stands by Allenby at the customary plank, and the Kraken looms into view after a moment.
Another interesting detail, for those of you curious enough to look elsewhere on the screen, is the very bottom of a phenomenally out-of-place lounge chair in the bottom corner of the screen, with two bare feet poking out from offscreen. But back to the action. ]
Well, Miss Beardsley? Will ye fight? Or will ye walk?
[ Allenby, for her part, takes an interesting approach to this question. Not quite seeming herself, she decides to fight!
She decides to fight... The Kraken.
And to her credit, as she jumps and there’s an offscreen “Holy shit!” from The Captain, she doesn’t die instantly! She actually manages to get some fight in against the beast! It’s clear to see that whatever has been knocked off her martial arts ability, she’s still at peak Regular Human performance.
It certainly throws The Kraken off guard, especially after it grabs her and she just… goes berserk, for lack of a better term? Which leads to her being dropped, which is honestly not great news for her. Fighting The Kraken in the air is one thing, but in the water? It doesn’t take long for her to get pulled, literally kicking and screaming, down into its gullet.
There’s a moment as The Kraken struggles a little, but before long the end result is clear. Allenby Beardsley is dead.
The screens cut out, and Jones is back near the elevator. ]
That was… honestly a little badass? None of you had the angle that I had, but WOW. She just leapt right in there like - Rrragh! That was even better than last week!
...Oh right, uh, everyone’s dismissed.
