WEEK 7
Good morning, passengers. Happy Sunday. Happy New Year.
Another week, another three gone in the case alone, not to mention Chloe earlier in the week. Even as you gain access to another floor, the ship by now must be starting to feel more empty than ever. It's been a long time by now, approaching two months.
Where do you think you'll be, in two months more time?
The clouds have begun to gather around the ship, this week.

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[ ooc: Welcome to week 7, everyone! Remember to turn in AC here and coins for regains over here! If you wish to get in contact with the npcs, Davy Jones is over here, and The Captain is over here! And as requested, profiles are accessible here. ]

Red royal katty for Carmen. Daffodils for Shard. Larkspur for Adeline. White bishop's lace for Allenby. Snapdragons for Sylvando. Sweet peas for Alice. Yarrow for Albedo. Gillyflower for Sara, which Emily watches over. Baby's breath for Lorna. Amaryllis for Chloe. Cornflowers for Decus. Plumerias for Plumeria. Gladiolus for Freyja. These she sets out in the cups, then puts Jimmy Bear next to Emily so she can step into the center, kneel, and pray, hands clasped around her staff.]
Oh, Goddess, hear my prayer - Grandmother, wherever you are, protect these souls whom we have lost. Let the Blue Sea Star shine through the darkest night, and guide them to your kingdom for shelter and peace. Allow them safe passage through the waters of worlds beyond...
[She goes on like that for a little while, quietly, asking for guidance and for those she loves back home to know, even if for a moment, some sort of reassurance of Flayn's own fate. She doesn't know if Sothis can hear her. She never thought to ask if Byleth could hear the prayers of the people, now that the Goddess lived within her. But she would like to think the message might get through, somehow. To someone.
With her prayers spoken, Flayn feels more comfortable venturing into the new portions of the ship that have been revealed to them. The kitchen is definitely something she's interested in, though she seems a bit hesitant to actually start cooking anything. While it is true Filbo promised to try her cooking...what if something terrible happened? What if it made him ill? She is not unaware of her status as a poor cook. So, instead of jumping right in as she might have done in earlier weeks, Flayn hesitantly checks out the ingredients instead, brow furrowed, as Emily sits on one of the counters and watches.
Oh, but you know what's actually the best thing ever? The aquarium. Flayn steps foot inside of it and you can just sense the euphoria at being surrounded by so many different fish. She has to run to the library and haul up a big picture book encyclopedia to start naming each and every creature she sees, telling Emily and Jimmy Bear their names.]
- And it says here that this is a clownfish, this orange one! And then this one is...a triggerfish? Oh, and that one there is a sea horse! I know it does not have fish in its name, but it is in fact a fish!
[Jimmy Bear has accepted that this is his life, as a malformed teddy in his maker's pocket. Emily is calmly intrigued, and we cannot discern the emotions of the teddy specifically made for Emily. What about you, though?]
Kitchen
Oh, good! Looks like I'll get to try your food after all!
no subject
Ah - er - yes! Yes, you will! I...w-what might you like to try? I can...see if something can be whipped up now?
[Oh no oh no oh no]
no subject
[He looks like he's looking forward to it, hah]
no subject
...I...can make a soup.
[Soup's not hard, right? It's just like. Stuff in a broth.]
Ah, you know what, Filbo? You ought to watch me cook so you can experience the meal fully! [And maybe keep her focused and not crazy-enthusiastically throwing everything into a pot]
no subject
[Thank goodness for Filbo knowing enough cooking to survive on his own without getting food poisoning. Such is the competent adult life]
no subject
Oh, wonderful! Then let us begin at once! I saw "chicken stock" in boxes on one of the shelves, so I think it should work well for a broth!
no subject
[Filbo looks like he approves, yup. In the meantime he took out a pot because hey, even if he's the one Flayn's cooking for, that doesn't mean he should be just staring at her all the time, may as well nudge things along so they go easier for her]
no subject
Flayn goes over to get the box with the cap labeled "chicken stock", and looks at it curiously. This really had amazed her, that you could have the broth ready for you instead of, you know, doing it the long way and breaking down/boiling a chicken. She'll put that on the counter and then go back for vegetables.]
A good soup should have...carrots, and potatoes, and something green maybe? And onions? Turnips...ah, wait, no, I should not just pick things at random...[Raising her voice a bit,] Filbo, do you have vegetables that are particularly your favorites?

He hears Flayn speaking to someone, and his ears perk up. As he looks, he sees the toys--Emily (if she can even be called a toy) and...that bear Flayn made. A small smirk tugs at the corners of his mouth.]
Blimey, you weren't kidding when you said you liked fish.
[He turns to walk towards her, squinting at the sea horse display. A few of them have their tails wrapped around the sea grass scattered throughout the tank.]
If you were going to be a fish for the rest of your life, what would you be?
no subject
If I were a fish...hm, I think it would have to be... [Her eyes dart about the tank, but she doesn't see the kind she wants in here, so she begins looking about the room...no...hm, then it is time to consult her book.] I do not see it among the fish here, but it is a freshwater fish - aha!
[She holds up the book to show...an open page on crucian carp, also known as-]
A Carassius! That is what I would be.
no subject
Shiny.
[That's all he has to say on the Carassius, apparently!
Much to my chagrin, Constantine doesn't like fish as much as I do.]I don't have that much fish-related knowledge, but I know several of my associates have described me as eel-like before. Slippery. Always wiggles out danger. A nasty-looking grin.

no subject
Not sure if 'happiness' is really something you can glean from a fish's expressions.
[The eel does nothing but stare, slowly opening and closing its mouth to take in oxygen. Constantine stares right back.]
I think he's sayin' something to me.
no subject
[Flayn pops right up to take a look herself, studying the mouth of the eel with interest.]
...Oh dear. I do not think we would be able to hear him if he was.
no subject
[He didn't even graduate high school...but anyways, Constantine continues to stare intently at the eel, as if this is currently the most interesting thing that he could be doing at this time. He presses his ear against the cool glass, pretending to listen.]
Mhmmm. Yeah. [A pause.] Really? I see.
[The eel does not move, nor does it acknowledge Constantine. Its eyes are blank and hungry. After a few more grunts, he pulls away and turns to Flayn, a faint smirk on his face.]
Says that he's got all the embarrassing secrets about Jack, including what's behind his mask.
no subject
Flayn is sitting and watching this with rapt attention. Does she believe Constantine can talk to eels? Look, anything's possible now.]
Oh, that is incredible! Did he happen to mention what it is?

...I haven't thought of praying to the Empyreans. I don't know if they'd be able to hear me from where we are. I don't think their domains can reach outside of my world, but if there's any possibility of helping those who have already passed...
no subject
I do not know if she can hear me, either. But I cannot simply do nothing.

That would be incredible to behold.
no subject
It would be a sight! That sort of power, sort of help...
