Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

Mm, no. It's...okay, Adaman-san. I don't mind.

[Wh... Oh! Oh, that entire pantomime experience is actually completely understandable, he gets it pretty quickly - and then there's Adaman, and this is all really interesting, all things considered.]

I have, yes! He was just telling me that he came from that odd machine that gives us things. Isn't that right...?

[That last part is addressed to the Leafeon in question.]

[He sure is! Leafeon perks up at hearing his name, before seeing one of the many other humans in this place and going over to him with a pleasant expression! He is going to go over and sniff Hodaka a bit, just kind of curiously, but...

Well, Adaman doesn't seem to be too far behind, given that he walks over to the both of them with a grin and a few books in hand.]

Ah, Hodaka! I see Leafeon has decided to come and meet you, has he?

[Once Tommy's hostage confirms they're there on the other side, Aiba appears only to Gaius. She hadn't wanted to say it, for obvious reasons, but after this...well, the cat is out of the bag:]

Even if that had been a video created to deceive us, the Mayor has proved to be able to bring people and objects from our homes. [What with themselves, the vending machine contents, and the books from the library] Him fulfilling his threat would be plausible.

[Aiba hadn't wanted to say anything because that would strengthen the Mayor's threat, but now that this had been shown...yeah, no point in keeping quiet. True, Kim's intervention could still be fake, but it does help prove those people really may be there]

Huh.

[... Pulling the "letter opener" out of her pocket, Joy tries to cut the replaced patch of carpet out to lift it. Fontaine said they could go nuts. She's going nuts.]

[He feigns hesitation, but soon starts grinning.]

Are you sure you're ready for it?

[ Hodaka has only left the meeting room under duress. ...Or, to feed his cat, who he brings back with him. In that time, Forrest's arrived. ]

Ah... No, that's... I've been around everyone else visiting all day. I don't mind it, Forrest-san.

Sire! It is me, Nandor! Do you remember almost killing me that one time?

[ He isn't really hearing her. It's easy enough to put a hand on his back, with his attention completely focused on the thing behind the glass; when she does, the touch is all that registers. His reaction to it is pure instinct.

For about five seconds, the obnoxious, vaguely doofy guy who was talking about a check-in system like 48 hours ago disappears entirely. He turns his head to stare down at Zinda like a stranger, lips drawn back from his fangs in a silent snarl, and non-silently hisses in agitation. ]

[Worry not, at least for the moment; not that he can't hear Nandor from where he is at least, but for hilarity's sake, he isn't going to enter the stage quite yet!

But needless to say, Leafeon looks up Nandor with a bit of a...sigh? Is that a sigh, before shaking his head a bit! It does seem that he understands what is being asked though, but if only he could communicate that his very dumb human is behind this...

Still, Leafeon does try to get another book on the stack he's been trying to clean up, though--it's a hefty one, though, and he'll actually make some sort of questioning noise--can you help him with this?]

Not here, either...there must be some kind of switch, or something here--

[...And there goes another pile of books, coming from the other side of the shelf nearby. If you want your culprit, feel free to get him, Nandy.]

It's not the first one. Hodaka's cat came out of the machine the other day too.

[She shrugs. This all seems perfectly normal and feasible to her.]

As long as you're certain.

[He folds his arms, going back to looking through the glass. His gaze darts over everyone there; there's that person who's soaking wet, like Hodaka was when he arrived. He assumes she's his person.]

Is it the person you were telling me about in the pool, Hodaka?

[It's asked in the same light, pleasant way that he says pretty much everything; he's remaining rather even-tempered, all things considered.]

[ Hodaka doesn't mean to stare. But, it's just, of all people... ]

Rossiu-san? [ His voice is quiet. A little hoarse. ]

[It's not like Adaman isn't expecting anybody else to be in here--truthfully, he'd have been surprised if the room was completely empty when he stopped by, but as Adaman looks to Forrest, he'll raise a hand a bit--both in greeting, and to stop him.]

No, that is quite fine. Far be it from me to deprive someone else of this room, do not worry yourself.

[He'll go over to the glass, though, back pressing against it as he looks over at everyone...but, he'll actually focus his look on Forrest, after a moment.]

Actually...I did want to check up on you, after all that has happened today. [He didn't register much, but Forrest's tone was certainly unmistakable. Adaman's brows knit in concern.] How are you faring, Forrest?

I don't know, there's a lot of weird stuff in that vending machine. [She shrugs.] But Craigslist is a website where people put up ads for stuff and you can buy it off them or agree to be their maid or whatever.

[The future is amazing!]

[Well, he seems much calmer and more pleasant now, if nothing else.]

About as well as can be expected, given the circumstances. Thank you for asking; might I ask you the same...?

[He folds his arms across his body, the position not quite defensive but certainly a little tense; the smile remains gentle and so does the look in his eyes.]

[ Oh. Oh no— ]

Uhh. From you? No, of course from you, um... I think, maybe? It could be a good idea? It might? It'd probably be a good idea. Yeah. Yeah.

[ ...He's got no fucking clue. ]

[ But then his brain catches up to the dramatic little Edward Cullen moment he's in the midst of, and a whole new kind of panic sets in! ]

Shit. [ He backs away from Zinda, which is probably easier said than done with everyone here. ] I didn't mean to do that, I... did I leave the oven on?! Excuse me, this is important—!

[ AND HE'S OUT OF HERE, GOODNIGHT SEATTLE AND GOOD MENTAL HEALTH ]

[Leafeon actually seems to respond to the greeting well; he'll nod his head and chirp a little bit in response there, nodding his little head.

But Adaman nods his head, in kind.]

Nor do I, all considered. But he came out as if he had been freshly plucked here, much like ourselves. And he couldn't seem to give me any information about what it was like in there...

[Leafeon kind of just makes a noise at that.]

But I am glad to be reunited with him. He has been my stalwart partner for quite some time, after all. [Though, Adaman's look shifts a bit, brows knitting.] Though I wish we'd been reunited outside of this place...the lack of sunlight is likely going to bother him some.

[ Hostages. Drakkon's familiar with the rigmarole and the standard responses. Fury. Disbelief. Storming off. Desperation.

Someone's going to die this week.

He puts on his best shocked expression as he looks in there and sees her. His Ranger Slayer. Well... not his anymore, is she? If the glass was removed, he has no doubt she would have killed him by now. ]

[ This is going to be an interesting week. ]

[She laughs, just a little.]

Yeah. It's a pretty common practice to have an English name and a Chinese one where I'm from, so I thought Piglet needed one too.

[There she is, not as he last remembered her, with her brightly colored hair pinned into a complex updo not entirely unlike his own, but...]

Scarlet?

[When she appears behind the glass, her own spectacles catching a glare of light, she's in a demure, almost fifties inspired ensemble. She tilts her head to the side, lips coated in that candy colored gloss, frowning in Dandy's general direction. He unconsciously runs his right thumb over his own bottom lip.

If it weren't for Gaius' little interjection, he would turn around and go about his day, assuming that the Mayor's extravagant display was nothing more than a fancy scare tactic. Holograms are all the rage in Dandy's era, so that sort of excuse is easy to believe.

Now he's not so sure.]
