Week 2
Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.
It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?
While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.
Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

He'll be out a little while later, though, sitting in the lobby in one of the small sitting areas; he's claimed one of the little coffee tables, and on it is...well, that sure is a random assortment of crap out there with him. He's toying with the crystal ball in particular right now, just turning it over in his hands and looking very intently at it, but that doesn't stop him from greeting anyone who approaches him with the usual smile and gentle look in his eyes.]
If you're interested in anything I have, you're welcome to it. I don't have much use for this, I'm afraid...
[...Either he bounces back really fast or he's very good at being like this for some reason. Either way, he seems in an almost unnaturally calm mood, especially given his reaction to the motive.
That night, however, will find him standing near the glass in the meeting room, just...looking in, a very intent look on his face that seems far more in line with the situation. He'll drop it as soon as he's joined by anyone else, though, shifting seamlessly into something far more delicate and pleasant.]
Oh... Did you want to spend some time? I'm terribly sorry, I can go if you would prefer.
meeting room
Ah... No, that's... I've been around everyone else visiting all day. I don't mind it, Forrest-san.

[He folds his arms, going back to looking through the glass. His gaze darts over everyone there; there's that person who's soaking wet, like Hodaka was when he arrived. He assumes she's his person.]
Is it the person you were telling me about in the pool, Hodaka?
[It's asked in the same light, pleasant way that he says pretty much everything; he's remaining rather even-tempered, all things considered.]
no subject
Mmhm. [ He nods and takes a seat next to the reinforced glass separating them from their loved ones. ] She... Her name is Hina. Hina Amano.
no subject
[He says, because it is. He'll settle nearby, at least, so he's not just standing there.]
We'll find a way to save them.
no subject
[ Hodaka sounds a little less sure but just as dire. ]

meeting room
No, that is quite fine. Far be it from me to deprive someone else of this room, do not worry yourself.
[He'll go over to the glass, though, back pressing against it as he looks over at everyone...but, he'll actually focus his look on Forrest, after a moment.]
Actually...I did want to check up on you, after all that has happened today. [He didn't register much, but Forrest's tone was certainly unmistakable. Adaman's brows knit in concern.] How are you faring, Forrest?
no subject
About as well as can be expected, given the circumstances. Thank you for asking; might I ask you the same...?
[He folds his arms across his body, the position not quite defensive but certainly a little tense; the smile remains gentle and so does the look in his eyes.]
no subject
I understand; I simply wanted to make sure of it, my friend. [...] I am...anything but; I did not want to see my sister again under circumstances like these. To think that he'd sink to this, it's...sickening.
[He lacks the confident, bombastic sort of bite he usually has; if anything his told feels cold. Furious, if tiredly so.]
...If it is not too personal a question, who...among yours, was forced into this?
no subject
[His tone remains even; his gaze darts back out into the group, seeking out one person in particular. He points her out easily - a girl perhaps somewhat younger than Forrest, though not by much. Her hair is darker, and her style of clothing is far different as compared to his; she's sitting near someone, and she seems to be doing...well, something similar to what he's doing, trying to maintain cheerfulness. She hasn't had anywhere to clean herself up, though; it's more obvious that she's been crying.]
Her name is Midori. She's in the army with me.
[His demeanor shifts a bit, then. It takes him a moment to continue.]
Midori is my wife. We married recently.
no subject
[Adaman's gaze goes towards the group, looking around at everyone--looking around at all of these people who don't deserve this. A part of him starts to wonder if this was their fate, before they were scattered into these rooms--could it mean that there are others out there? Arezu, Melli, even Irida? A part of him is thankful he hasn't seen her, their clans had only--
Adaman's thoughts are stopped when Forrest brings up just who his hostage is, and it makes something in his chest sink when he hears it. This guy's wife...]
...I shouldn't be surprised by just how low of a blow this man has managed to deal, but even so, I am deeply sorry. Your wife most certainly does not deserve to be here. ...None of them do.
[He watches his own hostage--a black haired young woman who's at least trying to keep everyone calm, if not cheerful in her own right. Hell, she's probably over checking on Midori, which makes Adaman's gaze soften. She hasn't cried or done anything of the sort, but...]
She looks like a kind girl; you're certainly a lucky man. She reminds me a little of somewhat I know, where I come from, but...she seems infinitely less prone to mischief as the one I know.

lobby
He's doing a bit of aimless wandering when he comes across Forrest in the lobby, along with something familiar.]
Oh! [A brief amount of excitement escapes him.] That's...
[But it dies down when he sees the state of his poor crystal ball. Yeah, that's right. Leon broke it when he was trying to get rid of evidence...
He's back to being glum when he finishes that line of thought.]
That's my crystal ball.
no subject
[Forrest pauses for a moment, taking a second to look the ball over; it's certainly seen better days, given all the tape.]
Might I ask what happened to it...? It was like this when I found it; it came out of that machine.
no subject
S'okay, it was like that in the first place. I didn't think you broke it or anything.
[He plops down at the table with Forrest, since this might be a load-bearing conversation.]
It got broke during my first week at Hope's Peak. The, uh... Well, I dunno how to word this well considering the circumstances, so I'll just be honest. So, the guy who did the first murder needed to use the incinerator to get rid of evidence, but it was blocked off by a slotted door at night. He was able to throw through the slots though, and threw my crystal ball to activate it from the other side of the door.
no subject
[It's clear from his tone that he doesn't really, but he at least understands the concepts that have been put forth.]
May I ask what...happened, after someone died there? I know what the rules say here, but they're awfully vague regarding "everyone's going to have a chance to figure it out", and if it's at all similar...
no subject
If it's the same deal as my first game, the Mayor'll have us play detective and investigate the area for evidence. Then we'll have to work together to figure out what happened and who did it.

meeting room
It is no issue, really. It is not as though I can tell her anything I would not wish anyone else to know about, after all.
no subject
[Kind of horrid, honestly, but it is true.]
Might I ask, then, how you're faring?
no subject
[It's kind of hard to read whether he's Lying About Feelings or kind of genuine. He is actually looking at the Cool Robot rather than his daughter, because he's wondering like. is that the one who does the rampaging. he thinks misfire said that's the one who did the rampaging...]
I have been somewhat comforted by the knowledge that we have made it this far without any real incident, and Allie is the sort of person who I believe would not have much difficulty making friends in this sort of situation.
[...sigh.]
It is still difficult not to be concerned.
no subject
[He goes back to looking through the glass, just...seeing what everyone is doing moreso than seeking out one specific person.]
I also feel terrible that she's in there... She doesn't deserve any of this, though I'm sure that could be said for many people that are there.
[Midori did nothing wrong, outside of being like a fifteen year old girl in a Fire Emblem game.]
no subject
[…well, none of the kids do. He’s not sure about nandor’s weird little gremlin and grimlock honestly, even if he’s generally pro-grimlock on account of him being a cool robot. but like. by and large.]
Of course, the same could be said for many of us, even if we have more freedoms at present. We are not dealing with any notions of justice here.

meeting room
[Brett seems a bit more put-together about being in here than a lot of other people. He's sitting at the meeting table, for one - the side facing the other captives, so he can watch them, but it leaves him at a distance. He's even brought his notepad, and is writing in it.]
no subject
[Just saying.]

[.....]
Wait, did you want privacy? I can -
no subject
[He finds somewhere to sit properly, in one of the chairs nearby; he fusses with his dress a bit, even if there's nothing wrong with it.]
It feels sort of odd to watch them for a long time like this, but it feels wrong not staying with them for at least a little while. I'll probably try to leave them be afterwards, most of the time.
