Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

[Well at least there's sympathy from someone! Aiba sounds genuinely concerned]

Are you alright? Did the mayor harm you?

[There's a problem, though. Aiba is hiding as usual, taking advantage of the meeting room's furniture, but the glass wall and its properties make it very difficult for her to project her image into Jonathan's eyes. Therefore, all he can see is a very vague, almost completely transparent, and somewhat distorted Aiba. It's unmistakably her voice, though]

[Jonathan looks up at Nandor from where he's sitting, looking absolutely miserable.]

I suppose it's fortunate that you were planning on having the meeting later on, I suppose.

[He exhales.]

I suppose I could be worse. I wish the Mayor at least provided me with some writing material or a book for this imprisonment.

I would hardly call this company!

[The outburst was louder than intended. Jonathan quickly looks away in shame.]

Sir, please. You certainly look strong enough to break through this glass. COuld you at least try for me?

I suppose, it's simply that... [He's unsure how to finish that statement at first.] I am aware of the timer on the wall, but I am unsure if the Mayor will simply let me leave once it's up, or if he has further torment in mind for me. I am not eager to see which it is when I do not even have anything to distract me from my fears.

A-Aiba, you...

[He stares at the image of Aiba in shock. He had never seen anything like this before, and can hardly comprehend what he's even looking at.

... Was Hagakure right about the ghosts?

Still, the genuine concern in her voice keeps him from completely freaking out.]

It seems like the Mayor has not harmed me yet, but thank you for your concern. I just pray that he does not have anything further in store for me.

[Misfire groans.]

Fine, but only if you promise not to call me 'Sir' again, alright?

He doesn't seem very hands-on, though.

He said that even if we didn't boink each other into the afterlife right away... That he'd wait, right? That doodlebrain isn't planning on gettin' his hairy knuckles dirty.

Which means you're probably safe!

[He nods, brightening up a little.]

Th-thank you si-Misfire.

[ ... He gets up for a moment to get a better look at one of the monitors... ]

... Two hours and fifteen minutes, actually.

[ Odd how he doesn't seem to regard the monitors with much confusion... Maybe he gets used to things quickly?

He wanders back to sit next to the glass. ]

I would hope not. Being in an empty room for such a long time would be enough to drive one mad.

I hope you're right. It is dreadful being here already, and knowing that I am completely helpless to whatever the Mayor has in store for me is positively terrifying.

Yes. It... is tragically a situation I am familiar with, but I hoped that I would not have to worry about such a situation like this.

[He buries his face in his hands.]

This punishment just feels so harsh for my crime.

One who kidnaps twenty plus people and traps them in several rooms? [ There's a duh at the end of the sentence which is heavily implied. ]

An expanding prison is better than a constricting one.

[ That's how he's looking at it, anyway. ]

I am aware of what he has done, but all I did was fall asleep outside my room. Why would he want to punish someone for sleeping somewhere. There wasn't anything that was going to harm us, right?

It's about control. There are more than a couple of reasons why he choose to punish you, ranging from setting an example, to just wanting to keep things orderly so he can observe us, to because he felt like it.

Six hours isn't all that bad, either. I would've left you in here at least an entire day.

[Well, the entirety of their circumstances does. Aiba looks around]

Do you see anything that could indicate a door, or a way out of that room? Anything that could be opened, even if you can't from your side.

[ Haha, oh wow.

He doesn't say anything to do this but boy does he think the guy is an idiot. ]

[Misfire makes his way over to the glass, leaving his goodies on the floor. He readies a fist, then tacks on quickly, like a verbal fine print:]

[And punches the glass. To absolutely no effect.]

[ Vholran isn't exactly someone who happens to subscribe to a particular sleeping schedule, just doing whatever suits him. So here he is late at night, wandering when he feels someone is following him.

He proceeds to ignore it so far until the pursuer pops up from around the corner. ]

[ He continues to stare at the other man, unimpressed. ]

Doing that can and will get you killed.

[ Vholran doesn't even seem surprised... ]

A lot of things can do that. [ Seo Dawon doesn't seem to mind Vhloran's countenance, straightening up with a relaxed smile. ]

What about you? What are you doing wandering around so late?

... Is that what that Dracula fella did to you? Lock you in your room and throw away the key?

[ He's starting to understand why Harker didn't want to speak of that incident... ]

Poor thing. And six hours is such a long time...

It is probably because you fell asleep in the library. Still, you know, kind of a dick move. Perhaps one of us could bring you a book?

[ how... how would he turn the pages......

Sidenote: there is, in fact, a pop of color on the all black outfit Nandor showed up wearing! It is, uh, the red of an apple on the copy of Twilight that he is currently holding. ]

[Mafuyu enters the room briefly, at some point. Leaves. And... returns again, later, carrying a small stack of books.]

Ah, Harker-san?

...I know this is probably a silly question, but are you doing alright?

[Zinda barges into the meeting room after hearing from someone else about Jonathan’s predicament, wielding a… frying pan from the kitchenette?]

There are actions that manage it more easily than others.

[ On the other hand, he looks like he's simply evaluating the other man, but generally still vaguely hardly different from the expression he's had a few moments ago... ]
