Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

[Huh. Well, Adaman's look...well, it quirks a tiny bit at that, something strange, but...]

Please, do not mind that. You could take up every bit of space in here, and I would still spend my time finding a way to utilize it myself.

[It's a bit of a wry joke, though, as he steps inside and looks into the glass. Just scanning and watching, but...]

That was quite the song you sang, there. Is it one of your own making...?

[ Looks like an audio tape! ]

It's important to have a record keeper, no matter how you balance your books.

[ That doesn't sound shady at all. ]

Are you keeping track of who goes in and out of this room too?

Not as closely as that.

[But who's been spending a lot of time in here? Yeah, sure.]

I've been trying not to spend too much time in here myself.

[ Another one of these, really. Info is info but his 20XX self is wondering why it couldn't be something a little more modern. Anyway! He'll go back to his room to play this in a bit, but before that he's going to flip through the books he took out from this shelf. Anything odd or something that shouldn't be in them? ]

[ my dude you REALLY look like you have servants for everything-

Hodaka's frown deepens to a scowl as Seo Dawon goes on, answering his question but in the most annoying way possible. But then, that— ]

...You don't? [ His eyes flick back to Hina. ] Why?

[withagun]

[ For a moment, it looks like Hodaka may say no. At least, he looks so unsure. So desperate to keep watching her. So desperate to—

He stands. And, gravely, he says: ] Okay. I'm counting on you.

[ And he takes off in a run, not willing to be absent from the meeting room for any bit longer than necessary. ]

[timegazer]

[Ah...Adaman can't help but chuckle a bit at her reaction, but it's done warmly as he raises a hand in the air a bit, more to try and stop her-]

Worry not; you have done no such thing. This space is yours to use just as much as it is mine, is it not?

[The question gets Adaman to perk a little bit, though, nodding his head.]

Ah--it is an offering to Almighty Sinnoh, the deity my clan and I worship, and the majestic, almighty ruler of time! [...BOY'S ENTHUSIASTIC.] I have been praying for our continued success and safety, you see. It is my hope that we may be able to get through this without harm, and for Almighty Sinnoh to guide us towards a path out of this place!

[ Who can say?

Anyway, examining the books will reveal that not only are there no history books in here, but the whole history section seems to have been removed. ]

I don't see the point, personally.

[ He actually hasn't really been in this room much besides the announcement. Notably, he's also not looking in the direction of the glass at all. ]

[inaclearing]

[Sitting here isn't exactly helping her either, is it?]

Hodaka...from everything you've said, she wouldn't want you to suffer for her sake. She wouldn't want it from anyone, right? So especially not you.

[withagun]

[ A man named Howl... Suddenly, Hodaka is enraptured. He quietly pulls out a chair and sits at the table Brett is at. ]

I'm sorry... [ Because of the past tense. Because of the heavy air of death. ] Did... He had experience? With nature?

[buriedstar]

[ Note: History is the Mayor's least favorite subject...but got it! He'll go ahead and put all the books back with care, even if it might be more than the Mayor deserves.

Anything else to note in this area? He will poke at the rug with his shoe for good measure. ]

But you don't understand, she'd—

[ He cuts himself off. Goes quiet. Bites down on his lower lip. ]

[inaclearing]

...yeah. He lived out in a cabin in the woods - the same one I was staying in, before this.

[Which only confirms that yes, Howl isn't there anymore.]

It's ten miles out from town, and it didn't have electricity back then. He lived off the land, for the most part. Hunted his own food, took care of the house and the land on his own. He made this dandelion brandy...I never asked him how. I wasn't one of his students, not like Peregrine and her friends.

[ "In the most annoying way possible" is Seo Dawon's specialty ✨️. ]

Illusions are easy to do, not to mention transfiguration, or even homonculi.

[ His expression is almost vacant at this point, at odds with the usual smile and movements in the way he usually conducts himself. ]

But beyond that. If Lee-kyung-ah is actually on the other side of the glass...I would know. I would feel it, even as I am now. [ Just like during the announcement, the fingers on his right hand run across a mark of some kind on his left ring finger. ]

Yeah. And that's not always bad, but... you know, it can suck if it's all the time.

[He shifts a little bit so he can point her out; god, Midori did nothing to be here outside of being a fifteen-year-old girl in a fire emblem game.]

That's her. She's the kindest person I know. Smart, too. She makes all of our medicine for the army.

[ Nope, that's it in here! Go play that funky cassette tape. ]

[inaclearing]

I like to check on her.

[He doesn't indicate who he's talking about.]

At least once a day. But sitting in here for hours...yeah, you're probably right. [And he hasn't been doing that either, for the most part. Maybe an hour at most.] I understand why people do it, I think. I just don't think it helps.

What's she like? You mentioned that she raised you...?

[This is such an awkward time to ask about this. There may not be a better one.]

It's fine.

[It comes out a bit harder than intended, and Adaman feels himself tense up. Eyes closing, briefly, before he's back into himself. He finds himself bringing his hands together, clasping them...]

...I only pray that Almighty Sinnoh has been hearing my prayers; that they can offer each and every one of these people protection. I...I don't want her to have to face a situation like this.

[His tone only falters briefly, but falter it does.]
