Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

[A giggle!] You cannot make food from nothing - there is always a starting point! That is why food is usually cooked, after all.

You never know -- technology is all about breaking barriers. Maybe in this world they found a way to make food without ingredients.

[It's not impossible, is it? It probably is, but after being brought to another world, well, he's trying to be really openminded about things. Can't go discarding possibilities]

Hm...perhaps.

[She is not totally convinced - comes from having to grow and hunt your own food as a community - but even so, the possibility would be intriguing.]

Maybe there are people who work on this ship besides the Captain and Davy Jones that have yet to reveal themselves? And they do things like make food?

No, that can't be it! Because then that'd mean they're...they're okay with what's happening to us. It can't be there's a whole crew and absolutely everyone wants to see us die, right?

But they might not be okay with it, and are forced to work here, just as we are forced to be here. Without seeing them or knowing them, we cannot know.

[It's just a possibility, but like. Food from nowhere just doesn't compute.]

[Filbo sighs]

I'd like to think that if there was someone in trouble and told to kill each other and all that, they'd at least give a sign of life, even if it was dangerous to do so. I mean, it's what I'd do because...sometimes, even if you can't do anything or even say a word to someone else in trouble, just being there it can mean the world to them...

[That's a liiiiiiittle depressing for a morning conversation, Filbo, tone it down. It seems he realized it, because he chuckles and adds:]

Then again, I have also been told I'm weird, so maybe that's something that shouldn't be done.

That isn't weird at all. I think that is the right thing to do.

[She's smiling and soft-spoken - very sincere.]

But I feel as though there is so much we still do not know about our situation that...perhaps we cannot rule anything out. Even food that comes from nothing.

[Filbo is so glad Flayn brought that topic back. Trying his hardest to divert from his own depressing thoughts, he tries to go into a similar tangent:]

Oh! Maybe there's a kitchen somewhere after all, and if we reach it, we can make something different -- something that isn't in this buffet already. It'd be nice!

Oh, yes! That would be wonderful! I do not think I will tire of the fish very easily, but something that is not fish that was actually appetizing would be lovely.

[Like cake? A whole cake? Yes!]

[All the cakes, one after another, until margaritaville is turned into a dessert buffet. Take that, Jimmy, learn to cook something that isn't seafood]

Exactly! Although I admit I'm not that great of a cook. Just enough for it to be edible!

[But he of course would love to try anyway. It'd be fun!]

Ah...well, then you would be a much better cook than I am. No one will even try to eat my food.

[Sadly this is not Azure Moon route, so Dimitri will not prove that her food is somehow edible.]

Now I can't have her kill anyone with her terrible food I'd feel too bad]

Of course! I don't see why not!

[He's aware Flayn says she's not a good cook at all, but still, the path to improvement starts from zero, he thinks. Helping with that improvement by trying that food should be of help! What's the worst that could happen? Some bad tasting food? He figures it can't be that bad.

But for now I better finally get some food here. I'm starving!
