Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

[There were a lot of weird things about Zero, that much was kind of obvious. But his commitment to the bit appeared entirely serious; the mask never seemed to come off. He'd either slept in it or made a very good show of pretending his had--it was hard to tell.]

[The next morning in room 11 saw him at least leave behind the cape in favor of the purple suit underneath it, which probably passed for 'casual'. He would be seen moving around the ship with the same authoritative stride like he had the faintest idea where the hell he was going, which brought him to the library for most of the morning. With a stack of books on a table, he was paging through one in his hands with...if not a pensive expression, certainly the demeanor.]

[Later on he'd give the buffet a very close look; top to bottom, any dark corner or chair and table undersides. You know, the kind of places one might conceal something key-sized. Rather notably, he wasn't eating anything when others were around; later on, he'd take some food and disappear back to Room 11 briefly when his roommate wasn't likely to be around. If anyone was still thinking he was a robot, that was probably a good indicator he needed human sustenance.]

[ Well, there's unfortunately not a lot to find tucked away - though as he digs around, there is something he might find interesting about the grated-off area. ]

[for want of a key, let's poke around at a lock! what's up with the grated bits, then?]

[ The lock is pretty solid, and the grates don't budge much! But the section is grated off in two separate pieces - if someone was careful, they could peek in a little through part of it! ]

[...Hm, this seems ill advised.]

[Of course he's gonna do it.]

[ So it's a little too narrow to both look through and shine much light at the same time, but Zero can definitely get a sense of what's back there! It looks like some kind of table or counter with some space behind it.

... And a shadowed humanoid figure standing behind it. ]

[he's just gonna stay verrrrrry still and see if he can adjust to the light to figure out what he's looking at.]

[is this, perchance, the first mate or captain's offices?]

[ Unfortunately, there's not much of a better look he's going to be able to get, but uh.

Whoever this is isn't moving. He can definitely tell that. ]

[...hm. that's probably fine.]

[If he waits long enough, can he tell if they're alive?]

[ Sure!

Though the stance implies this figure is standing on its own power, there are no signs of life no matter how long he waits. ]

[GREAT. LOVE IT.]

[He's just gonna...ssssllllowly back away, and make a note of that to come back tomorrow or the next day.]

[ No worries! The figure will still be there.

And that's all there is to find looking around this room! ]

[Sara's still looking around for anything remotely useful-ish after speaking with Flayn... and then notices Mr. Fishbowl checking out books. She leans forward to check them out and... sighs. Relief? Maybe??]

...huh.

Hm?

[He looked up from the book in his hand, helmet tilting in her direction.]

Have you found something?

No. Just surprised there's more than those.

[She indicates a copy of literary classic Now That I'm A Ghost, I'm Gay strewn on one of the tables.]

It looks like he cares about this world's military history, though. Or maybe just wants to give us context.

It could be either. He could also be seeking to intimidate us.

[Zero snapped the book shut and tossed it carelessly on the table, the title reading Expeditions of the Holy Britannian Empire.]

With things from our worlds. Maybe, but... don't we already know how much he knows about us?

The profiles are invasive to say the least, but how can we be certain he doesn't somehow know more still?

They at least imply he already does. And even if these things don't matter to the other people here, what they mean to us means it's concerning enough even without his having to bring other things from home into it.

Indeed. I only mean that perhaps he knows even more than he's letting on, which for some of us may be a concerning thought.

I'm sure he does. The profiles... they know about my Strain and about my real name. I don't know how far those got outside the Libertad.

He's definitely done his research.

[Sara doesn't know what she expected, but it might not have been that. She studies the book stack, but it doesn't look like she's actually reading them.]

And recently. I don't know how. But as disturbing as it is, we can easily assume that he knows everything.
