Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

[ Hmm. This possibility clearly isn't something that has occurred to her yet, and, unfortunately, the mental jump to "we have to knock it over" is not far away. ]

And yet here it is, in plain sight. So you think they're taunting us.

It's not impossible, right? They wouldn't be above that. Well, Davy Jones perhaps would, but the Captain...I don't think he would be above that.

[The Captain doesn't give the best first impressions, and that's without the part about killing them all]

... Well, no. But the Captain also doesn't have the gall to show himself, as established. He's not just going to brave the lion's den every time he wants a Pep! Select.

Well, that's true.

[He can't argue with that logic, it's sound. Then perhaps...]

Then what if he sends Davy Jones instead of coming himself? Davy Jones has nothing to fear. I mean, most wouldn't want to even be in the same room as him.

Ugh, speak for yourself. The only thing intimidating about that overgrown bilgesnipe is the smell. What would he even want from a vending machine? [ ! ] Ooh, do you think it dispenses the restless souls of dead sailors?

[Filbo winces. Don't insult him like that so loudly, you're going to die! Yeah, Filbo is absolutely terrified of Davy Jones.

And, he's finding now, mildly creeped out by the thought of restless souls of dead sailors being trapped in vending machines. Davy Jones still trumps that one.]

I-I mean, it's said Davy Gr--Davy Jones has a locker, not a vending machine.

[That's not a counterpoint at all, Filbo]

...somehow the thought of sailor souls automatically appearing in this vending machine is kinda worse than them being lost and wandering forever as ghosts, or something.

[So he hopes there are no souls in there]

I mean, assuming he devours them, bit of a moot point.

[ The only trait Magica possesses that even kind of resembles a positive is her endless egomaniac's bravado, and it's in full force now -- and of course seeing someone react negatively to it is the best feedback she can get. You can't scare her, Calamari Jim!! ]

It might explain the aura.

[Feels ominous, that's for sure. Maybe there really are souls inside]

You think you'd be able to open it...?

[ She clenches one hand in a fist, which is probably fine. ]

But if opening it with magic isn't possible, then there must be some other way, like with brute force.

[Brute force that would have to come from some plan, since Filbo absolutely isn't known for having lots of physical strength]

[ Thankfully, the vending machine is still interesting enough to keep her from turning this "correction" into a whole thing! Her eyes narrow. ]

I'd have more luck trying to climb inside the wretched thing than breaking it open. No, we're going to need someone big and stupid.

[ jasper gets mad somewhere and she doesn't know why ]

There are some strong people among us but none of them is stupid. The only one who is a little...off is Scott, but he doesn't seem strong.

[What a delicate way of badmouthing someone, Filbo. Calling someone 'awful' is fair game for him and he's fine describing someone like that, but outright saying someone is stupid seems to be a tad too much for him]
