Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

That's assuming he had flamethrowers to begin with.

It doesn't matter whether or not he had the flamethrowers. The fact that he was going to implies that he's the kind of showy asshole who thinks he's the center of the universe.

It tells us more than that. Lying about intending to kill us all at the outset means to set up the implication that he could. He seeks to leave us in a constant state of fear of what may happen should we refuse to play along with his demands, even if in reality he holds no true power to simply wipe us all out at a thought.

The human mind is an astonishingly self-sabotaging thing. If we begin to second-guess how much power he holds over us, we're likely to work ourselves into some level of panic and desperation. Which is, I presume, precisely what he wants.

[You can literally see Scott's eyes glaze over as Zero keeps talking. What is even going on here? Why's he saying so many words? This is so boring.

Then he shakes it off.]

Okay, he's the final boss. Uh-huh. I got it.

[Scott is, for better or worse, actively too stupid for psychological warfare to be effective on him.]

Essentially, that is my assumption.
