WEEK 1
Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?
There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!
Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
FRIDAY | SATURDAY
[ ooc: Welcome to peace week! Feel free to mingle (and investigate, if you like) to your hearts' content! Please ensure all investigation toplevels are marked accordingly, and otherwise enjoy! If you wish to talk to The Captain or Davy Jones, look here for the former and here for the latter! ]

Party Zone
Maybe people buy it because they're expensive and...have nothing better to spend money on?
[A ton of hot pockets or eggs would be a far better decision, Filbo has to agree]

That'd be kinda nice. [Filbo can't really disagree with that -- not that he'd expect to receive money from rich people if they give it away] Just standing somewhere with a pile of money, giving them to random passerbys.
It wouldn't be too bad.
no subject
Wouldn't it be nice...? [ A little wistful, but then she scoffs. ] They're never going to, though. That's like a definition of being rich. You gotta hoard it like a douchecanoe.
[ Probably she should be a little more concerned that she's talking to a...whatever Filbo is? But frankly? After everything? Nah. This is fine. Life-sized muppet man? Fuck it. Bring it on. ]
no subject
I wasn't aware that was a requirement. Not that I plan to be rich. [With the salary he gets as a mayor? He's not going to be wealthy by any means] Why hoard it, though? Wouldn't it be better to spend it on something useful?
[Not in chandeliers, that's for sure. If Filbo by any chance does strike gold, he's not buying any chandeliers at all, that much he's promising himself right now]

So if you get rich all of a sudden you'll give it all away? That's really generous of you!
[In the mouth of someone else wording it like that would sound really sarcastic, but it seems Filbo means it]
no subject
[ Ungrateful? Ungracious? No, it— ]
If hell freezes over entirely and I, by some impossible chance, get rich, I'm paying off my fucking debts. [ In...an equally impossible world, where she's not a blight on the universe and therefore allowed to, you know, live. ] ...Rest goes to my mom's.
[ She becomes quite preoccupied with a scuff on the floor; she's trying to make it bigger with her shoe. ]
Rich assholes suck. But the people who don't have money and then get some... They should hold on it if they can.
no subject
Does that make it the Captain's fault? Eh. No, probably it was Filbo's own fault, he thinks]
Maybe you're giving it a little too much thought.
[He says that with some hesitation, but once those few words come out the rest seem to rush out of him without he thinking too much about them, even though he's stumbling with them a bit]
I-I'm not saying you're wrong! I do agree with some of what you have said, and it's not like I know anything about what being rich is like. It's not really something I have thought about. But sometimes it just...doesn't need to be too complicated. Things like those chandeliers are excessive, I guess? I'd never buy a chandelier if I had enough money for one, nor I'd go on cruise ships for a month nor I'd eat seafood sixteen hours a day nor...I can't think of other rich people things we're doing right now.
[Okay, the seafood part is just him because he's hungry, don't pay attention to that. Filbo shrugs, a little uncertain if he even is making a point here. What can he say, someone who looks like she has thought of some sad stuff just makes him feel like he has to say something:]
But when thinking about this kinda stuff starts making you feel bad I think you should do something else! Life's a lot to deal with already, so why get tied in knots because of semantics, right?
[Despite being really sociable, he has never been socially graceful -- but at least it's a clumsy attempt to get her to distract herself. It's well-meaning, if perhaps ineffective, as usual]
no subject
That...is a lot of words for trying to tell me to look on the bright side, huh, pal?
[ At least, in the end of all this, she sounds quite amused. ]
no subject
[It's not like he's incapable of making a point! But in the end he's just a silly grumpus trying to be helpful, and sometimes you don't know how to do that, hah!]
no subject
[ She shrugs. ]
Guess so. There's nothing I can do about it, sooo...
