Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

No, that makes sense, actually. Why would a legendary pirate be working with a guy who pretends he can't even set weapons up correctly?

I'm not entirely sure the Captain is that stupid, but just based on what little we saw of their personalities, it seems like they'd clash pretty terribly, ja? I don't think Mr. Jones wants to be involved in all of this - at the very least, he doesn't care about this and is forced to be here. I think it's a bit too soon to say whether he disapproves of the Captain's methods or not.

[So he's not our friend or ally, but he could potentially be one.]

I don't think he's that stupid, either. I'm pretty sure it's an act on his part.

The wait and see approach doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence. There's too many unknowns.

Oh, agreed. It really isn't a good approach, but it isn't like we have many options here. While Mr. Jones is certainly agreeable and willing to talk, it does require asking the correct questions - and even then he may not be willing or able to answer. I haven't tried speaking with the Captain yet; I doubt that will go any better than it did when we first spoke with him.

Nah, the Captain is probably going to be impossible to get anything approaching answers out of.

It's Jones I'm surprised about, I guess.

Oh trust me, I'm just as surprised as you are! I thought he'd get annoyed with me and tell me to leave, but he was quite cordial through the whole conversation.

Well. Maybe I should ask him for a moment of his time. My buddy would be fascinated, if he believes me.

That alone is reason enough to seek an audience with him, ja? I'm sure no one would believe me if I told them about it!

Good point. I might have to seek him out.

It probably wouldn't hurt, for more than one person to chat with him.

Precisely! Let's see what we can learn from him, ja?

'Course! Who knows what'll it be like, multiple people askin' him questions?

Just be careful about it, ja? No sense in getting too angry at him or risking him getting angry at us.

I wouldn't go bein' nosy with him. That sounds like a bad time all around.

Ja, ja.

[With that, Yeager moves to flip through the book again, though he isn't particularly invested in it. He's silent for a long moment before speaking up.]

What do you think of the others here?

I want to say that I think none of them would be tempted to kill one of us, but... we are all strangers.

Maybe I'm wrong. But I've seen plenty of people killin' because it's the easy way out.

Desperation is the best weapon the Captain has right now. The longer we have to wait, the more likely it is someone will act, simply because there isn't any other option.

[oh boo, you are no fun!!

Yeager laughs at that though, holding up his hands in surrender.]

Alright, alright, forget I asked!
