Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

Yeah, that's right. My artes, I can't use them at all. I'm a wind malak, see, so I can control the air to an extent. Nothin' like windstorms or anything; little things.

But I can't do it here, and it's... creepy. Think of it like losing one of your senses. It shouldn't be possible, and yet it's happening anyway.

[The idea of magic itself is still throwing her, but she sits at the edge of the pool regardless.]

None of this should be possible. Other realities with magic, taking people from different times. A setting that doesn't make sense. Now you can't do things you're supposed to be able to.

Yeah, exactly. I don't know if this is all the Captain's doing, or some by-product of how he brought us here... but I don't think anyone should underestimate him. I think that was his intent with that botched performance, but I don't buy it.

[onlyyoucan]

If he is magical, then that could be what he's putting all his energy into. Blocking all of your abilities. Like a computer diverting its processing power into one thing.

I'm not sure what that computer thing is, but yeah, exactly.

He's got some sort of power on him.

[onlyyoucan]

Which means we have to find out what it is and how it works.

[sivard]

Yeah.

Seems rather exhausting, doesn't it? I wouldn't know where to start.

[onlyyoucan]

Searching the area seems to work for something.

Maybe it's about what we're looking for. This ship is huge, there's bound to be things we haven't found yet.

[onlyyoucan]

Anything that stands out, I imagine. Things that don't belong. Like how the phones don't match the rest of the machines here -- they're more advanced.

[sivard]

[You and your non-fantasy technology!!]

I'll keep an eye out for things, but it sounds like I might run into some trouble noticing anything out of the ordinary.

[onlyyoucan]

These. [She draws her phone out of her pocket.] The things we all woke up here with.

[sivard]

Oh.

[He looks at it curiously.]

I saw that, but I didn't know what it was, so I left it in the room.

It works something like a Daytracer -- wait, you probably don't have those either. A few applications. It's got our profiles on it. You can call the Captain, too, though it's not like he tells you anything.

[sivard]

Oh.

I'm not sure why I would want to talk to him. I take it you have?

[onlyyoucan]

I had to try. But he won't tell anything aside from that he has his reasons.

[sivard]

...I wonder what those "reasons" are?

I can't imagine it's anything especially deep.
