Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

[There's a pause.]

You ought to do your best, too.

Don't worry. I will. There's something I have to do... no, something only I can do.

[Another nod.]

Is it to do with the Strains you spoke of?

[onlyyoucan]

Something like that. There's someone I have to face, before he kills anyone else. I don't know where he is, or how I'll get to him the way things stand, but...

[cethflayn]

I see.

[No wonder she's so confused by Flayn deciding to roll with their situation - Sara's more focused on getting back home and doing something really important.]

Then, ideally, you would want to leave this place.

[But like. Would you kill someone to do that?]

We have to. So I'll look for a way out no matter what.

[Flayn is quiet for a moment.]

...Would you take the Captain's offer, if you need to? If there really is no other way?

[onlyyoucan]

There can't be no other way. I don't want anyone else to die. That includes the people here.

[cethflayn]

[It almost looks like a bit of weight is lifted off of Flayn's shoulders when Sara says that.]

I think so, too. That there must be some other way - one we cannot see yet. If we merely believed everything the Captain said to us, we would be fools, would we not?

[onlyyoucan]

Especially since he's hiding information. He wouldn't if we were really helpless to stop it.

...You know, I would ask where such information might be hiding, but a thought occurred to me. This ship cannot simply be the one area we have access to, can it?

[I mean there's locked areas indicated on it, there's gotta be more, right?]

At the very least, the means to store supplies have to be somewhere.

It looks like there should be a lot more space underneath, but we don't have a way in yet.

I wonder why we cannot move freely about the entire ship. What harm would it do if we could?

[onlyyoucan]

He probably has things he doesn't want us to see stored there, but cruise ships have a lot of space. He might want to keep us with each other long enough that someone gets sick of it.

[cethflayn]

If that is the case...well, even with the ship being so big, it too is a limited space.

[We either get sick of people in a small space or get sick of them in a somewhat larger space.]
