Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

[It's been a long day of work, and while he's satisfied he feels exhausted. Still, he has to clean up any traces of paper, rubber bands and confetti he left during his party preparation project. Having gathered all the debris, Filbo passes by.

The hot tub looks...really tempting, really. It'd be relaxing -- but Freyja is there, and he doubts she'd like to have shed fur in the water while she's trying to relax, so he stands nearby]

What a question, Lady Freyja...I hadn't thought about dreams. Let me see...

[What does a grumpus dream about?]

I have these vague dreams with people I haven't seen in a long while. I think I'm starting to dream about you all too?

[It's hard to remember dreams, but he's trying his hardest, yup]

[She's admittedly wondered about the dreams of other species before; as such, this is interesting to hear about, certainly.]

Are you...? [Hmmm.] I suppose it makes sense to dream of that which you are surrounded by; are they good dreams, do you feel?

I'm pretty sure they are!

[Filbo smiles]

Okay, I think I'm on an island, in a hut. I go outside and it's daytime, and then I find Jasper there, standing near a campfire. He starts complaining about how there's no tea, so of course I have to go and find some.

[He has to pause to try to remember details, but the gist seems to be pretty clear, at least!]

Also instead of hair he has a huge lemon on top of his head? It's really bizarre. Don't tell him I said anything about this, I doubt he'd be amused at all!

Ah... Don't worry, I can keep a secret.

[She is struck again, as she so often is, by the notion that something terrible had better not happen to Filbo on this boat, along with the secondary notion that something terrible is probably going to happen to Filbo on this boat.]

My brother and his retainers would probably find that sort of thing delightful.

Really? Do they like hearing about bizarre dreams?

[Or...watching bizarre dreams, given they come from a realm of them?]

Thanks for keeping the secret from him. He's already having a bad time, he doesn't need to hear I have dreamed about him with fruits stuck on his head.

I don't remember much about my dream after that. I just know I went on searching for tea, and then I got to the beach and this cruise ship we're on right now was high in the air, just...floating away from the island.

[For some reason that part is said a little quietly, but he recovers quickly]

Dreams, eh? I guess if I ever have another good one I could tell you about it. You don't get dreams of your own even though you come from a realm made of them?

We thrive off of the dreams and the nightmares of mortals; we witness everything that the mortal world conjures. So nothing is truly that bizarre, by our standards, and he likes the whimsical sort.

[That said, I'm pretty sure that with that last question, Filbo just invented the concept for Inception.]

As for dreams of our own... We do have them, technically. But they aren't like those from the mortal world. They don't sustain our realm in the same way.

That sounds kinda amazing! And overwhelming. I dunno how things are like in the mortal realms you watch over, but there must be an infinite amount of people there. That's way too many dreams to witness every night.

[And a good amount of them are naughty dreams Plumeria must watch over. Fairies in Dokkalfheimr have a rough life, geez]

Maybe yours make another realm thrive. Another realm different to yours and the mortal one. It's not impossible.

[What with the revelation all these worlds exist. Who knows, there could be another Dokkalfheimr out there feeding from fairy dreams.

Feels like a train of thought that'd lead to a headache.]

Ah... Dökkálfheimr and Ljósálfheimr combined make up one of the nine realms that compose the world and keep everything in balance. So our realm is important, but not quite in that way.

It might be nice, though. The idea of sustaining someone like that, of being needed in such a way.

[Nine realms, wow. That's an excessive number. Filbo is starting to think the apparent simplicity of his world may be a point on its favor, leaving aside the events of his canon]

Your world seems so large...what are the other realms like?

Múspell and Nifl are the realms of fire and ice, respectively. They were at war until recently, when the royal families destroyed one another. Niðavellir is the realm of the dwarves; they are ruled over by their king, Fáfnir. Their kingdom creates technology unlike anything anyone else has ever seen. Hel is the realm of the dead, ruled over by the queen of the same name; she oversees and holds dominion over all who pass away. Asgard is home of Alfaðör, the creator. Midgard is where the humans reside.

[Aaaaand we have no information in FEH about Jotunheim or Vanaheim yet, but rest assured she would tell him if any of us knew.]

I have not personally seen all of these places, but I know them to exist.
