Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

Our lands produce different plants than yours, that bear different fruits and flowers. We also usually imbue them with magic before consumption, resulting in whatever effect we desire.

Everything here tastes...strangely less real, by comparison.

You probably wouldn't care much for anything we create in our realms. Or perhaps you would; we tend to keep it away from the mortals, for the most part.

Oh, yes, certainly. Though they're more likely to find their way to Ljósálfheimr; as it should be, really.

That would be... The realm of dreams, I'm assuming?

[Kids have nightmares frequently, sure, but they're also far more likely to have vivid dreams, so that sounds like the far better option here?? Please don't give the babies nightmares.]

Oh ja, I'm aware! I simply like hearing about it - I never would have thought there could be other worlds, so learning more about them has been very enjoyable!

Does your world contain no other realms? Even if it is largely contained within what we would consider Midgard - the kingdom of humans - is there not even a realm of the dead?

As far as I'm aware, there's only the one. Of course, I don't know if our world does have any sort of deities or similar beings - if we do, we certainly haven't heard from them recently.

...I wonder why that is. It isn't unheard of for powerful beings to not associate closely with mortals [unless they're waging war at which point all bets are off] but the thought of having no contact or knowledge of their presence at all is foreign to me.

It does seem a bit odd. I never truly gave it much thought, but we don't really have any strong religious ties. The are myths surrounding a Goddess in the Empire, but I'm not all that familiar with them.
