Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

Good evening. The view is pleasant, but it's not quite enough on its own.

[ Albedo gives a small nod back in greeting, stepping closer to within comfortable talking distance. ]

I wouldn't say that. But scenery is only the background for a good subject.

[ Incidentally he's reaching into his pocket to pull out a notebook. ]

What would be your ideal subject, then?

Would you indulge me and take a guess? [ He is certainly sketching with quick, broad strokes that rapidly fill the paper. He's also glancing quite often at Yeager as he does so. ]

[Hmm...]

Well, maybe you prefer something more than just a landscape? Or... Perhaps this one is a bit boring, with only the ocean and sky?

[Maybe you just really like sketching mountains or something, who knows??]

[ Okay he does love mountains tbh.

There's silence for a while as he keeps drawing, but it's not too long before he redirects his attention to Yeager fully. ]

I sketch what is interesting to me. Or in this case, who. [ He flips the sketch around and it's of Yeager! It's pretty good actually, though he's obviously gone for a more minimalist approach given the time constraints. ]

...Oh.

[He seems taken aback for a moment, genuinely caught off-guard - but that moment is over quickly and he's lightning back up and grinning.]

Look at that, you've done a fantastic job capturing my likeness! Why, I'd pay for a proper drawing from you if only I still had any gald!

Oh, I am not a proper artist—this is simply a hobby of mine. [ Yeager, plz. There was a noticeable blink from Albedo at the praise, followed by a slight incline of his head. ]

...gald, is it related to gold? Or made of it, perhaps?

Oh, right... I'll never get used to other worlds...

Gald is what we call our currency. It is made of gold, though!

[is it actually made of gold or is yeager just bullshitting, even i don't know because i don't remember any deep lore about gald.]

Yes, that makes sense. I believe the currency for many worlds is rooted in the elements. It is in my world as well, though it is slightly more complex than utilizing gold, even if it is an element of mora.

Honestly, I've never given it all that much thought... But I suppose that's normal, ja? You get used to something and you don't think to question it.

[At least until you're yeeted into a murdergame and then you have to have conversations about the currency of your world.]
