Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

[Constantine looks blearily at the spear being held by Adeline, tilting his head to the side.]

That's--

[And then he spots the capsule dangling from Adeline's arm, and his demeanor changes in an instant. His eyes widen, and he leans over the table so quickly it seems like he could've tipped over the table.]

Give me that capsule. Now.

[An edge has crept into his voice, and it looks like if she doesn't give it over, he might just snatch it off her arm, himself.]

[oceangirlfriend]

Okay, okay, just let me get it off. [Her tone of voice doesn't falter as she sets the spear down, allowing her to slip it off her hand and pass it over.] I wasn't sure what it was for, just that holding it caused some weird effects.

[scouserer]

S'none of your goddamn business.

[But even as he says that, a vision comes to Adeline's mind. A small, blond boy, kicking around a soccer ball. Alone. He speaks in a quiet, British accent, but other snatches of voices can be heard.]

Is anyone coming t' play? I'm bored--

--you're not my child. You're nobody.

--Who wants t'play footie, eh? Is anybody there?

[Constantine takes the capsule in hand and scowls, immediately tucking it into one of the pockets on his coat. Despite all efforts, he can't help but look slightly shaken.]

[oceangirlfriend]

Alright. [That's probably significant, but also she's not the type to pry. She picks the spear back up.] You still interested in this?

[scouserer]

[At least she didn't ask any questions about it. Constantine glances between the spear and Adeline, as if trying to determine any sort of ill intent.]

....Sure, I'll take the spear. What d'you want for it?

[He gestures towards the table.]

[oceangirlfriend]

[Adeline leans in to take a closer look, adjusting the spear so that the point is sticking out over her shoulder.]

Well, that flute does look nice. I'll take that, if it's okay with you.

[scouserer]

[His brow furrows.]

Flute for a spear. [He shrugs.] That seems heavily weighed towards me, but s'not like we have any other form of barter on this ship.

[He holds a hand out to take the spear from her.]

[oceangirlfriend]

Well, I wouldn't say no to you throwing in one of those puppets on top. But a weapon's not going to do me much good.

[She was never really the weapon-wielding type.]

[scouserer]

You won't be sayin' that when someone comes after you with a knife.

[He crosses his arms.]

But take the puppet. Those things are creepy as hell, anyways.

I think I'd be more of a danger to myself with a weapon I don't know how to handle. That's why I invested in defensive augmentations, after all. [She picks up the flute and deliberates for a while before selecting one of the puppets.] Thanks.
