Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

[Ah. Well, that explains Zaveid's title...and the blank look at he gives Constantine. Constantine just sighs, rubbing the back of his neck.]

Never mind, just look it up in the dictionary. The library ought to have one.

[He scratches the stubble on his chin, eyebrows furrowing together.]

So you're a spirit, then? Somethin' happen for you to end up like that, or....?

[Actually, that isn't what his title refers to at all, but leeet's go with that, it's not like he'd talk about what it actually means.]

Right, sure. I'll have to take a look at it.

Nah, malakhim are born at earthpulse points. I have heard that sometimes, a human can be reborn as a malak, but we're not ghosts or anything like that. Just a different kind of people.

[It's fine!! That's a secret tool to help us later. Or something.]

Huh.

[Constantine blinks. After a pause:]

Can safely say I've never heard of that before in my life. Must've been a shock to be perceived by everyone else on this ship, then.

[sivard]

It sure was.

Not for the reason you might expect, though. It's because up until recently, for the last three years, all humans had suddenly been able to perceive my kind. The Abbey had... done something. The details aren't important, exactly; just know that a lot more than just my kind were in danger due to their actions.

Long story short, a buddy of mine was involved in setting things right, though he's never actually told me how it happened.

Hmmm.

[Constantine can only imagine how fucked it would be if all humans were suddenly able to see a side of the world they previously didn't even have to acknowledge! He tilts his head to the side.]

You think that might have anything to do with the situation we've found ourselves in right now?

[sivard]

I'm not so sure. Inominat isn't in the picture anymore, from what I can tell. And it's not like the Empyreans have the power to pull people from entirely different worlds.
