WEEK 1

Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
FRIDAY | SATURDAY

[ ooc: Welcome to peace week! Feel free to mingle (and investigate, if you like) to your hearts' content! Please ensure all investigation toplevels are marked accordingly, and otherwise enjoy! If you wish to talk to The Captain or Davy Jones, look here for the former and here for the latter! ]

[Ahhh, well if it isn't his roomie! Sylvando's not that surprised to be turned down, and he doesn't take any offense to it. He just goes right back to it.]

Suit yourself! I'm not done yet, so you're more than welcome to keep watching if you want.

[An audience always makes things more fun, even if it's an audience of one.

He keeps up the conversation even while dancing, though he has to take more pauses to breathe.]

Bit of both, really? I dance whether I've got an upcoming performance or not, but this session does have some more purpose behind it.

[ At the very least the other man didn't seem bothered by it.

Well, they didn't really have much else to do. Other than maybe prepare for the party...which he supposed he'll be attending for the exact same reason why he was hanging out here in the first place. ]

More purpose because it's partially to help with ensuring you're prepared, I assume. [ ... ] Incidentally, what did convince you to get into dancing in the first place?

Exactly!

[As for Risotto's question about dancing...]

It was part of my training once I joined up with the circus, and it really resonated with me because of the amount of emotion you can put into each number. I was already very good on my feet thanks to my upbringing, so that helped!

You certainly don't seem to be lacking in emotion or energy, so I can see how you would easily become drawn to it.

[ Risotto only knew this guy for a few days, but he's also so...bright. It's almost jarring, really.

Especially in the face of everything here. He's definitely thought that before, but he's thinking it again, so he'll let the thought pass him by again. ]

...Out of curiosity, how did your upbringing make you good on your feet?

Hehe! I would be a terrible performer if I was lacking!

[A performance with no emotion or energy is just boring! It's sad to even think about!

When Risotto probes a little further, though...Sylvando comes to a halt.]

You saw the trivia in my profile, right? I was in training to follow in my papi's footsteps and become a knight. I was no slouch, either!

[ That's right, his profile had mentioned that. In retrospect, he supposed that it made sense that Sylvando's time in the knighthood was likely not to be so short given he was about to follow in his father's footsteps... ]

I do recall that, yes, and it's hard not to notice evidence of that now.

Though, going from following your father in knighthood to joining the circus is a rather drastic change. What prompted that? A desire to change careers?

It's not as though I disliked my training, it's just...when the circus came to town one day and I attended, it was like my eyes had been opened to an entirely different world! I was utterly captivated by their energy and their love of bringing smiles to the masses. I knew then and there that I would feel so much more fulfilled if I joined that world rather than becoming another rank-and-file knight.

My papi was not happy with me for a long while...but I never did forget my training, either. The Soldiers of Smile wouldn't be what they are without my background in chivalry!

...The Soldiers of Smile.

[ He couldn't believe that there was an organization out there named as such. Then again, there were stranger things. Still, it was enough to give pause for a brief moment. ]

I assumeβ€”with what you've just said about chivalry and 'Soldier' being a part of that organization's nameβ€”there's more to it than performing a circus act or something along those lints.

[ It sounded somehow a little more involved than that. Not that being a part of a circus troupe wasn't involved on its own, but... ]

[Don't sound so incredulous about it Risotto, jeez! It wasn't even Sylvando's idea for a name, surprisingly enough, but boy does he adore it.]

Of course! Well, we primarily do performances, but we also help people in need. The Soldiers come from all different walks of life, so if anyone needs help, we've probably got someone with the right skill set for their problem!

[ ...and here he was, thinking the man came up with it on his own. Ba dum tish.

There's still lingering judgement even so. But just based on the name, and no doubting in skill was involved. Sorry not sorry, buddy. ]

I see. That does sound relatively convenient and...helpful.

I imagine with how readily you and your group would've been to assist others that you're relatively popular back 'home'.
