Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

[Plumeria's definitely going to be on the quieter side, but if she's being honest with herself? That performance was splendid--more than she could've expected, really.

Have some clapping for your efforts while Plumeria wallflowers, Sylvando, well done.]

[Thank you, thank you! Sylvando is bowing so much and blowing so many kisses and he's having a grand time.

Once things have quieted down and Sylvando has a mocktail of his own, he's going to join Plumeria!]

You seem a little lost, darling. Have you not been to a lot of parties?

[Plumeria does perk up a bit when Sylvando pops over--she's at least a little more used to getting bothered while wallflowering, so she's not totally surprised. She even seems at ease!

...For a moment, and then Sylvando asks that--thankfully, perhaps, Plumeria's face doesn't turn...entirely sour, but she does grimace a bit and glance elsewhere.]

...Is it really that obvious? I thought I was doing a little better than that...

[...She looks a tiny bit put out, but she does force herself to ease a little bit.]

No, but...kind of yes? I've been to the parties that Lady Freyja has hosted, and they're certainly grand affairs, but...I don't think any of them have really prepared me for something like this.

[...It's the humans, but she probably doesn't need to make that obvious. But she does take another drink of her own mocktail.]

I promise I don't mean it as a criticism. [He takes a seat beside her, expression reassuring.] Everyone has their first party, you know? In your case, it's probably your first party with humans, isn't it? I can definitely see how it would be like learning the ropes all over again.

[Still...he could've worded it better. He's realizing that now.]

I'm so glad that you came, though.

[...You're still way too good for this sinful earth, man, but Plumeria does appreciate the attempt.]

Yes. Yes, it is.

[Even so, Plumeria does smile just a bit.]

I am as well. I would not have missed this for the world--Lady Freyja and Mayor Fiddlepie worked very hard on this, after all, and I wanted to enjoy myself a bit. [Of course, though, and there's some genuine enthusiasm when she says this--] And your performance was certainly enjoyable earlier as well! You're incredibly talented. And you do such things all the time, where you come from?

They really did an amazing job setting this up, didn't they? I'll never stop being grateful for their efforts.

[He can't help but grin at Plumeria's enthusiasm that follows.]

Thank you so much, honey! And that's right! Ever since I started the Soldiers of Smile I do a lot more dancing and parading nowadays, but I'm always happy to put on a proper circus performance when I can!

You certainly did well to give us an unforgettable performance. Really, I was so surprised when you managed to jump from chandelier to chandelier like that...and you didn't even look nervous for a moment.

[That was so fun to watch??? Literally why can't any of the dreams she watches be that fun, that's so rude.]

Do you have any further tricks up your sleeve that you might be able to show off?

Hehe! When you've been in the business as long as I have, it all becomes second nature. Plus, you need to have a clear head for stunts like that. Being nervous only increases your chances of slipping up- and that would certainly be embarrassing!

[And painful.

The second bit gets him to wink.]

Oh, you know it! I've got a whole bag full of tricks. Are you asking for one right now?

[Wow. Honestly, that he can manage such a thing with such a clear head and that much bravery--that's dedication. Plumeria didn't have any doubts about that, but seeing it in action certainly proves it more than anything.

And that affirmation gets Plumeria's eyes to practically gleam, nodding her head.]

If it's not too much trouble, then certainly! I'd like to see what else you've got in that little bag of yours.

[Ahhh, she's excited...!]

[Plumeria is so cute when she's all excited like this... He couldn't possibly deny her request!]

All right, then! Let me see here...

[Not exactly a bag per se, but he starts going through his pockets and sleeves until...]

Aha! So that's where I put this... [He pulls at a string within his sleeve and an entire party garland comes streaming out.] Oh, goodness! When will it end?

[He eventually does reach the end though, and quickly grabs onto the other end of it. He stretches his arms wide so Plumeria can see the garland in its entirely, then angles it so he can carefully pile it up into one hand. When he's just about finished with that, he claps it down, and with a poof!, a single paper flower remains! Little scraps of confetti are tucked into it, so it's very cute.

He pretends to sniff it like it's a real flower, then gently tucks it in Plumeria's hair.]

[Oh, Plumeria watches with surprisingly rapt attention. She's not sure what to expect, really, and when he starts pulling the garland out of his sleeve, Plumeria gasps!]

Oh--how did all of that get in there?

[It just keeps going, and going...and going, and how did that fit in his sleeve? By the time he's done and lets her see the full length of it, she watches as the garland disappears almost instantly when he claps that down--how did he do that? Is there some kind of magic at play, because she didn't even see where it went--

Not that she has long to think about that, and her eyes go a little wide when he puts the flower in her hair. She touches it, briefly, just to make sure it's there and...

Well, you're getting some genuinely impressed applause there, Sylvando, well done.]

That was amazing. I can hardly believe that you managed to transform that entire garland into such a lovely flower! And it didn't even look like you had that garland in your sleeve at all--simply amazing.

Happy to have surprised you yet again! Feel free to pull me aside whenever you feel like getting a mini Sylvando performance. I'm not joking when I say I live for this.
