Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

Well...do you know the recipe for Cuddles on the Beach? Or anything with peach in it, I'm not too picky there.

[Really she just wants to watch Freyja do the mixing.]

[She'll gesture for Adeline to follow her back into the buffet so she can access the bar, where she starts setting up to begin.]

Are you enjoying yourself so far...?

I certainly am. [Even if her tone of voice doesn't change much, her expression has a cheerful smile.] Like I told Filbo, it's far better than anything the Captain could do.

The Captain wouldn't bother in the first place, I'm fairly sure. He seems to want us to wallow.

I suppose he hopes that boredom will be a good motive to push us to kill. So we must do our best to combat that.

Those were my thoughts in doing this. That, and a lack of optimism regarding how long we'll last before someone dies - once the killing starts, if it doesn't put a stop to all of this immediately, it's going to be very difficult to get it to stop.

As such, I'd like to give people something good to look back on. Some sort of positive experience may do the others some good.

[A slight nod. Adeline's not as cynical about human nature, but on the other hand...their SOULs aren't naturally made of love or compassion like monsters' are.] I think it is helping. Everyone I've seen seems to be enjoying something about this party, at least.

It certainly does seem to be so, at any rate, and I'm glad to hear it.

[That said, she'll get started on the drink properly; she's not an expert or anything, but Data taught her well.]

With, please. [Her tail wags slowly as she watches Freyja at work.] Though not enough to overwhelm the peach color.

Certainly not; that would make the whole thing a bit ugly, I would think...

Of course. I'm glad to hear that you appreciate the aesthetics of a drink alongside its flavor.

Of course. Admittedly, such things are more easily controlled when the drink is magically conjured, for what I imagine are obvious reasons.

I certainly expect that would be the case. You wouldn't be limited by natural color mixing anymore, there.

It would also be whatever I wanted it to be every time, reliably. But it's been interesting learning how to make drinks by hand, at least.

[Adeline nods.] And you're quite good at making them by hand, too. You must be a pretty fast learner.

I like being able to make things for myself. Magic is preferable, but this is...there's a different sort of challenge to it, and I like that.

[Adeline nods.] I don't know how to mix drinks myself, but I feel a sort of pride at having designed and installed my body modifications myself. I suppose that's a similar feeling, here?

Possibly so. What purpose do they serve, if I may?

Mostly they make me more maneuverable in the water. Though the subdermal plating also makes me tougher in general. Figured I'd need it in case I got sideswiped by some deep-sea creature no one's seen before.

I see. We have no such things where I'm from, and as such it's something of a novelty.

[She just doesn't comment on it much because wow, rude?]

That seems like the case for most people here. I don't mind questions, though. I do like showing off my skills, after all. [A slight grin there.]

I'll bear that in mind, should I find that I have any.
