Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

Why are you warding against all authority?

'Cause authority sucks. The man's never on your side.

Aight, the man's most usually never on your side. Point is, power to the people. All that.

...I guess, for the gods. But what is 'the man'? All the leaders I've known have been everyday people.

[ She gives him an aghast look. ]

[Without missing a beat:]

Finland?

Huh. Well. If they're not total dickbags there...

[ She doesn't know enough about Finland to dispute this information! ]

There's some dickbags but I think everyone just gets along because there's so few of us left to begin with. We don't even have a president like Iceland does, we just have 'village leaders'.

Really?? Didn't know those were still a thing... Buuut, history and geography was never really my thing, sooo.

[ She recognizes the names at least, so she assumes some things are the same. ]

Anyway. Where I'm from, the guys in charge? Don't care 'bout the little people. It's best to say fuck 'em and do what you want.

Oh.

[Well. Maybe it's a problem in Chloe's world?

Regardless, he'll hold a hand out towards her. It's his way of asking for the marker she's using to make anarchy signs.]

[ What is he...?

It takes Chloe a second, but she looks from Lalli to the marker in her hand. She hesitates a moment, but— ]

Give it back, okay? I don't have a lot of 'em.

[silentscout]

[He nods to her. Don't worry, he'll give it back.

But first he's writing a series of words that...well. It's written in Finnish, but Finnish mostly uses Latin letters so she might be able to make out the word sounds at least?

After he writes a few lines, he caps the marker and reads it out loud. The words translate when he speaks them though, because translation fun.]

"One's authority has no sway here
Take oneself and one's words elsewhere
this space is for all persons
who equally share the burdens of rule."

[And then he hands the marker back to her.]

...or so it would go, if I had my magic here.

[ What...the hell... Chloe raises her eyebrows slowly, listening. ]
