Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

Honestly? Yeah. Cruise ships are great for sightseeing, but without that they're not nearly this... genuine. To say nothing of anything else that might be on our minds here.

Cruise ships aren't something we have back in Terca Lumireis, so all of this has been a learning experience for me!

[But he still doesn't understand why we felt the need to build a ship for entertainment. Sightseeing at least explains a good amount of it!!]

Oh, just, you know. The whole Captain thing. As breaks from trying to figure out how to get off this boat and get back to what I was doing go, this one isn't too bad.

Ja, right? A nice break is what we all needed, I think. Taking a moment to relax before we return to searching all over the place and pestering Mr. Jones or the Captain sounds like a wonderful idea!

Heh. You know, I ought to pay real life Davy Jones a visit one of these days. Once I properly wrap my head around this whole "magic" thing.

Not something you're used to? Well, admittedly this isn't like the magic I've seen either, but I suppose being somewhat familiar with mages doing strange things makes all of this a bit easier to grasp!

It really is so strange that he actually exists, though! I wonder what other legends are also real?

It does open some weird doors. Is Santa real? Or are the Tomtenisse? Or both at the same time, somehow?

Oh, uh... Santa is a legendary figure who gives presents to children, and the Tomtenisse are a Scandinavian version, except there's a bunch of them and they're really small. One of my teachers when I was little used to tell me Santa was really just a bunch of them in a big coat, but I think he was just making fun of how Coach Brunt talked about Santa.

[Huh! We don't have anything quite like that, because the guilds and the Empire are still pretty close despite you know. Really disliking each other. So no major differences in legends and lore and all that fun shit.]

She... tended to get a little over-enthusiastic about teaching me things. She tends to be a little over-enthusiastic about... a lot of things.

I mean... honestly, he's a lot like what you'd think a guy who asks people to call him Professor Maelstrom would be. Tall, pale, very... dramatic, in a weird reserved way?

"Professors" really do tend to be exactly like that, don't they? I don't think I've met a single one who isn't terribly dramatic.
