Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

Well, are there any flavor profiles you particularly enjoy? Something sweet, for example?

[This girl eats army rations without complaint, okay.]

I'll just get that thing. [She points, seemingly at random, to whatever it is someone else is drinking. It might be disgusting, she's just lost.]

[Data follows her gesture, shrugs, and goes about making that thing! Congrats, you get a sparkling peach sunrise!]

Do you not often drink for leisure?

I wouldn't have anywhere to get alcohol. [Military school. In space.] And when we did have a party, we just drank what was in the refrigerator.

[Hey, he's in the literal military (sort of?) in space, and they've got booze.]

I see. [A bit of a shrug.] Humans seem to find intoxication enjoyable, but as I am incapable of it myself, I cannot say that I think you have missed anything.

That makes sense. It looks like you're good at making them, though, even if you can't have them.

I enjoy learning. I have also experimented with cooking, although I have no sense of taste.

You were reading all those books, too. Were any of them helpful in the end?

[ltcommandroid]

In regards to this situation? Not especially. But it is always interesting to learn about the military strategy of other cultures.

[onlyyoucan]

I guess so. Though I'd call it more necessary than interesting nowadays.

[ltcommandroid]

[He nods.]

Military strategy is still necessary, where I am from. But that pertains primarily to space battles.

[onlyyoucan]

It's the same for me. That's why Strains were designed for space combat over anything else.

What is a Strain?

[onlyyoucan]

It's a combat craft, STRategic Armoured INfantry. Like the one I pilot, Ram-Dass. They aren't made to fight on land, so they have pointed limbs and can't stand, but a lot of them are built to withstand and go into sub-lightspeed, even if they're fragile otherwise.

Fascinating. It would seem that several of us are experienced in space combat.

And most of us seem to be from places where the idea isn't even in reach. That might be important, or just a coincidence.
