Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

Don't squids have---have slime or something on them? Maybe it's a fire retardant.

[That's not the same as calling Davy Jones slimy, right? He sure hopes so]

Or it's just magic. Are there any other differences in the lore you remember?

I don't think there are. It's not like I know all the lore, but from what I have heard so far it really feels like it's the same legend. I guess every word has a Davy Jones?

[Is there a Davy Jones duck.]

Every world out there but the hedgehog's, apparently.

[ god only knows what ducktales jones looks like... is he a seabird? is he a fish? does he wear a pirate hat? all that's certain is he's probably an actual person and her sworn nemesis has probably arm-wrestled him. ]

On another note, [ and she raises her eyebrows, jerking a finger in the direction of Filbo's hanging pot setup, ] what's going on there?

Oh. That. I'm trying to make good tea instead of...all the bad tea around. It's hard to heat up when you don't have fire, so I'm using the sun instead. Old wilderness survival trick?

[If he remembers correctly how to do this trick, at least. It's been ages since he heard it]

... Honestly, where is the firepit here? We know the Captain at least doesn't care if we all perish in a towering inferno.

[ And not a word about the tea! It's as her mind is calibrated to skip over any offer or nice statement that might require her to be a civil person in return. ]

Well, I guess he doesn't want us to die in a fire by accident, like it'd probably happen. We're meant to--to kill each other, right? But not by setting the ship on fire.

Anyway. Suppose that's one point for the idea that he's really physically here, somewhere.
