Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

I suppose that makes sense. Traditions don't come out of nowhere, after all. [She smiles over at Flayn.] I'm glad you got to enjoy it, that time. What else did it have, besides dancing?

Well! There were delicious party foods, and some fancy cider, and before it was held, we had a special competition for dancing amongst the students! I was not selected to participate, but it was still thrilling to watch and cheer for my classmates.

Oh, that does sound like it'd be nice to watch. Professional dancers are so graceful in their movements, and I expect a competition would lead them to bring their best to the stage.

[cethflayn]

They certainly did. Our class's representative won!

[Dorothea absolutely crushed the competition.]

[oceangirlfriend]

Oh, that's nice to hear. Was there a special prize, or did they simply get to show off?

[cethflayn]

There was! She got to train in the art of dance for the benefit of battle.

[How do you even phrase "so and so obtained the Dancer class" in a normal way]

[oceangirlfriend]

[I mean, there are Pokemon that do that.] Ah, really? Was your school a battle training school for people, then? [She's familiar with Pokemon battling schools, and she supposes if their world doesn't have those...]

[cethflayn]

That it is! The Officer's Academy of Garreg Mach Monastery is the most prestigious of institutions for such a purpose!

[oceangirlfriend]

[A pause as she takes that in a bit more.] Have you...had to use that training, much? [She wants to assume maybe not, if special training was given as a prize instead of being given to everyone who could use it?]

[cethflayn]

[Her expression falls a bit.]

Well...yes. We had just emerged from the end of a long war. I had to make use of much magic in order to defend myself and keep my allies well.

[Also the Authority skill, because you can't command the Cethleann Monks without A rank there.]

[oceangirlfriend]

Ah. Was the party also to celebrate the end of the war, then?

[cethflayn]

No, the party...was five years ago.

[oceangirlfriend]

Ah. [So it would be time for the 1000-year anniversary then.] I suppose you have to take the time to rebuild, then?

[cethflayn]

We do. The Monastery had been left in ruin for some time...we patched it up as best as we could, but there is still much left to fix.

[The cathedral is in even worse shape than it was before, and before there was a massive pile of rubble in there.]

[oceangirlfriend]

Mmmm. Well, I wish you luck with getting that finished soon.

[cethflayn]

Thank you! We shall do our best!

[Flayn's gonna work SO HARD when she gets home - well no, she's going to nap for a while, canonically.]

[Flayn deserves a nap, quite frankly. Adeline does stand up and stretch a bit.]

Well, I'm going to head over to get myself a bit more to eat. It was really nice talking with you, though.
