Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

Yeah, that's the toothpaste. You just need to squeeze out a little while cleaning your teeth-it should foam up a little but not enough to fill your whole mouth. It'll taste a bit like mint, if you don't mind that.

...Alfyn? And usually you rinse your mouth with more water after that, so the flavor doesn't stick too long.

...ah, he makes herbal remedies, then? Most people in our world don't use those anymore. And I certainly hope he doesn't use the same herbs he chews as ingredients.

Never asked. Your world doesn't use medicines?

Oh, we do, but not herbal ones as much. Ours are more...mass-produced, you know? You can buy them in bulk at Pokemarts.

[bolderfell]

Hm. Can't say I understand the difference, but I don't know much about that stuff to start with. Most people don't. For that, we're pretty lucky he's with us... even if he is way too nosy for his own good.

[ladygeryon]

Aren't lots of healers like that? Always wanting to know the specifics of your health status and acting like they know better about what's best for your body... [She sounds a bit like she's speaking from personal experience, there.]

Ugh. Yeah. And we've got two of them.

Are they good at their jobs, at least?

...Yeah.

Better than being nosy and incompetent, I suppose. They ever get into arguments about proper treatments?

[bolderfell]

No. They get along so well, it's disgusting. They can chat all day about flowers, about helping people... It's always so noisy.

[Alfyn and Ophilia are too good for this world, too pure.]

Hey, at least they've got each other for an outlet there, right?

They all talk too much. ...Except H'aanit and Olberic. They're reasonable.

[ladygeryon]

Oh? What do they do, then? [She's assuming physical fighters-most of the time they always seem to be the quiet ones.]

...Olberic used to be a knight. Now he's a kind of sellsword. H'aanit's a hunter, like Aela--but sometimes she captures the beasts we come across and tames them for a while instead. The way you and your... Pokémon. The way you work together. It reminds me of her and her snow leopard.

[ladygeryon]

I see. [It does make her feel slightly better to know that there are sort-of-Trainers in other worlds.] Are people who...tame beasts like that common?

Not especially. Most of them come from S'warkii--the village H'aanit's from. They tend to keep to themselves.

[ladygeryon]

Huh. [It's kind of a strange concept to her, that taming beasts would be a rare talent instead of something common.] What's her snow leopard like?

[bolderfell]

Linde? Mm... well. She's built a bit like your--Aria, right?

[He uses his hands to illustrate the height and breadth of a snow leopard, passes one hand over the imagined slope of her head and shoulders to her rump.]

Don't know if you have cats, but she's like a large cat. White fur, with spots--more of a tail than Aria. Sharp teeth. She's a hunter, too, and savage in a fight. Saved our skins more than once. ...I could probably draw a picture, but I'm not much for drawing living things.

Ah, sounds a bit like a Liepard, though colored differently. The names sounded similar, but I wasn't sure how much weight to put on that similarity.

[bolderfell]

Huh. Funny how some things are similar in all these different places.

[Just like it's funny that a talking duck seems to have more in common with most of you than he does.]

Think leopards have different coats, depending where they come from. What colors are your Liepards?

Dark purple, with yellow spots and cream bellies. They're Dark-types as well, like Aria here.
