WEEK 1
Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...
The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
FRIDAY | SATURDAY
[ ooc: Welcome to Peace Week! Enjoy it while it lasts. Remember, office hours for The Professor's Assistant are over here if you're interested, while regains can be deposited over here! ]

lunch!!
Never the less, while he's...actually remembering that hey dumbass, your body needs food, there's Ema coming at him with that offer which. Gets a quirk of his brow, more than anything.]
What, me?
[He legit sounds pretty incredulous.]
Shouldn't you be saving that sort of offer for more friendly faces?
no subject
[ Plus, though she can roll with the talking animals, speaking purely as a woman of science, this guy's biology seems just utterly fascinating-- ]
You don't seem that unfriendly to me. Maybe a little reserved? But that's nothing a good meal won't help solve.
[ Not to mention, she's extremely curious to see how he eats... ]
no subject
You know, he was perfectly prepared to go on his way and decline her offer, but she's being so friendly and kind. He needs to keep his distance, especially in this situation, but...
Lif crosses his arms, briefly staring down Ema before his eyes close and he acquiesces.]
If you believe that will be the case...then very well. I doubt I'll make for very good company, but I see no harm in joining you.
[Lead the way, Ema.]
no subject
[ Off we go! ]
You're Lif, right? Sorry, I couldn't help glancing at the profiles and all. I'm Ema, and I'm a forensic investigator.
no subject
It's alright; I've...at least tried to do the same. I'm still trying to learn how to use what we have been given.
[Even so...]
What exactly is a forensic investigator? I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with the terminology.
no subject
[ Maybe there's a hint of a brag in her voice? But she's smirking like the cat that swallowed the canary. ]
A forensic investigator goes to places where crimes have happened and helps to figure out who did it. And there are lots of different ways that I do that, with all kinds of different tools and tricks, but the most important way is making sure that I find and analyze any physical evidence at the scene of the crime. That means anything that the culprit leaves behind, whether it's a footprint or a piece of clothing, I can take it and use it to narrow down the perp. With me?
no subject
I follow. It sounds...essentially, as if you're tracing the path of the crime itself, based on the evidence you're able to gather. Would that be a correct assumption to make?
[Honestly, were this years prior, this sounds like something he wouldn't mind doing himself.]
no subject
no subject
You would be able to use even simple locks of hair as evidence? [He sounds intrigued as hell, honestly.] That's quite fascinating, that something so small would be able to lead one to the culprit...if we had such methods where I come from, we would be able to solve our own problems of crime much faster.
Your field of work is very remarkable, Ema. I can see why you take such pride in it.
no subject
[ But that said, she's getting too caught up in "let's remember". Deep breath-- ]
Anyway, like I said, with the right tools, something that a culprit might find insignificant like a fiber from their clothing or a footprint in the dirt could be a huge boon for me. Technology's come a pretty long way, too, so we're always finding new ways to make it quicker and easier...
no subject
It certainly sounds like it. I can scarcely imagine how many years it must have taken to invent technology at such a level.
[But--it looks like we're in the dining room! Lif will politely step aside so Ema can get her food first--ladies first, after all.]
no subject
[ Let's see, will it be sandwiches this time? Maybe something sweet; thinking requires sugar, after all... ]
I can't help but be curious about your background, really. Everyone here seems to come from such interesting places...I feel like I'm a bit mundane, in comparison.
no subject
No, unfortunately. You're...about a millennia ahead of where I come from.
[which is already getting a lot of "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK" mentally but she doesn't need to know that!!]
You're far from mundane, I assure you. Though I suppose that's only relative, depending on the person in question, right? One person's mundane is another person's mystical, and vice versa.
