WEEK 1

Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[ ooc: Welcome to Peace Week! Enjoy it while it lasts. Remember, office hours for The Professor's Assistant are over here if you're interested, while regains can be deposited over here! ]

It depends on how they decide to go about it, I think.

[Physical violence, maybe they'll get one. Poison or something, though...]

Some people seem a bit more inclined to jump than others, though.

[personal profile] shieldsister 2020-04-07 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
True enough.

[Not exactly a pleasant idea, but definitely one she's considered.]

You're right. I'll be surprised if some of the people here manage to behave themselves for even that long.
fivestagegod: (Default)

[personal profile] fivestagegod 2020-04-07 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I think most of us are capable of killing someone here, if the situation is dire enough. At this point it's just a matter of seeing who moves first.
shieldsister: (🌕 02)

[personal profile] shieldsister 2020-04-07 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
Precisely. Anyone here could decide the risk is worth it and find someone they can kill. I would hope we're all prepared for that to happen.
fivestagegod: (10. do you need love)

[personal profile] fivestagegod 2020-04-07 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, no one's going to be. If everyone were that vigilant then it wouldn't happen in the first place.
shieldsister: (🌕 03)

[personal profile] shieldsister 2020-04-07 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
Even the most prepared can be killed. You're likely right though; anyone who isn't careful would make for easy prey.

[personal profile] fivestagegod 2020-04-07 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
There's not much point in going for a challenge if you can get an easy kill, at least in a situation like this. I'm trying to keep aware of things, anyway, at least on a personal level. It's not like I'm going to be fighting anyone off, after all.

[He's pretty aware of how easily he could be destroyed by some of these people, at least.]

I'm not going to just let anything happen, but the odds aren't exactly on my side.

[He could probably take the teenagers? And some of the adults, maybe, but against most of them he doesn't really like his chances.]

[personal profile] shieldsister 2020-04-07 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
It's true, you're no warrior. [thanks, aela.] As long as you remain vigilant and careful, you stand a better chance of surviving.

[...She's not going to come right out and say it, but there are definitely weaker people here to target once someone gets it in their head to kill.]
fivestagegod: (07. if we can make it out of this alive)

[personal profile] fivestagegod 2020-04-07 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
As long as I'm not the easiest target here, in other words.

[jesus christ, birkin.]
shieldsister: (🌕 07)

[personal profile] shieldsister 2020-04-07 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[jesus christ, birkin.]

That is what I was getting at, yes.
fivestagegod: (10. do you need love)

[personal profile] fivestagegod 2020-04-07 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty sure I can manage that much, at least.

[So there's that.]

Have you been sorting out what to do with the technology? This place runs on a lot of it.
shieldsister: (🌕 06)

[personal profile] shieldsister 2020-04-07 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Some of the others have offered explanations. It seems most people here are familiar with these things.

[Which is... kind of crazy, honestly. But the less she thinks about that, the better!]

I have yet to destroy anything, if that's what you're asking.
fivestagegod: (10. do you need love)

[personal profile] fivestagegod 2020-04-07 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
It wasn't, but that's good to know.

[Thank you for not fighting the conveyor belt in the kitcgen, he supposes.]

It's not like there's a problem with you not knowing or anything. I'd have an issue with you if you were stupid, sure, but you clearly aren't. We're just from a different point in time than you, I'm pretty sure you know plenty of things that we don't.
shieldsister: (🌕 07)

[personal profile] shieldsister 2020-04-07 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[ur welcome]

Of course. I doubt many of you know how to find, track, and kill most beasts.

[...]

Though some of the beasts I've killed likely don't exist in some of your worlds.

[okay but death hounds are just vampire dogs so that's probably the same as a zombie dog, right]
fivestagegod: (Default)

[personal profile] fivestagegod 2020-04-07 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[God. We don't talk about the dogs...]

Where I'm from, a good amount of people have never hunted for anything. At all. I'd be willing to bet a bunch of us here haven't either.
shieldsister: (Default)

[personal profile] shieldsister 2020-04-08 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
It seems like a skill that isn't necessary in most other worlds.

[And judging from her tone, that is somehow the weirdest thing she's run into. That includes the horrible washing machine.]
fivestagegod: (Default)

[personal profile] fivestagegod 2020-04-08 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
In my case, food's generally provided for us. Massive farms and what have you handle it for us, and we just pay for whatever it is we consume. There really aren't any outside threats, either. Sometimes we'll get attacked by animals, but for the most part we've domesticated a lot of them and we keep out of the way of the rest, and the biggest threat to humans is usually other humans.

Which I get probably sounds really spoiled now that I'm laying it out, but that's how we have it right now.
shieldsister: (🌕 02)

[personal profile] shieldsister 2020-04-08 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Parts of that are true in Skyrim as well. Our largest cities contain people who never leave and never see combat, and those cities are untouched by the dangerous beasts that roam the wilds. The only real concern for those civilians is the war.
fivestagegod: (Default)

[personal profile] fivestagegod 2020-04-08 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
...Right. Because of course there's a war going on.

[WHY WOULDN'T THERE BE A WAR.]
shieldsister: (🌕 07)

[personal profile] shieldsister 2020-04-08 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
There's always some conflict or other, and this one is directly in response to the last war, so I can't say it's particularly surprising.

[skyrim is full of people just like aela who are very proud, like to fight, and do not have two brain cells to rub together. what were you expecting here.]
fivestagegod: (03. you say you're okay)

[personal profile] fivestagegod 2020-04-08 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
We try to avoid that sort of thing where I'm from. It doesn't stop people from doing it anyway, of course, but we at least try to keep the large-scale conflicts from happening. Small mercies, I guess.
shieldsister: (🌕 01)

[personal profile] shieldsister 2020-04-08 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Seems as though there's always a conflict somewhere in the world where I'm from. The last war was over twenty years ago, and the treaty that ended it is what sparked the current conflict between the Empire and the Stormcloaks. Not that I don't understand, considering that it involved banning the worship of one of the Nords' preferred deities, but that seems to be the case for most wars where I'm from - one conflict leads to another in some way.
fivestagegod: (10. do you need love)

[personal profile] fivestagegod 2020-04-08 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, religion tends to make everything a mess. We've fought over people worshiping the wrong gods, people worshiping the right gods but in the wrong way, people not worshiping gods when other people really thought they should, all of that. I am not surprised that people tend to think religion is a mistake.
shieldsister: (🌕 02)

[personal profile] shieldsister 2020-04-08 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed. The Stormcloaks are so devoted to their cause that they can't see the potential problems in a bid for freedom from the Empire, while the Empire has mishandled everything that followed the end of the last war. Neither side is fully in the right and yet brother fights brother for what they believe is right. While I hold no love for war, I do believe the glory that could be found on the battlefield would make choosing a side beneficial.
