Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

[Seteth is... not having a good time of things, but you know. Panic is useless, and he may as well get cracking on actually doing things. ...also he's kind of curious, all things considered, so he's going to try and investigate the dining area as soon as it opens for service.

Once he's done poking around there, he's going to head to the library, where he's been spending a reasonable amount of time just... trying to figure out what's going on with the world they're stuck in! So he's got a nice pile of books that he's going through. ...it should be noted that there is also a separate pile of books that he's set aside from the rest. If you snoop on over, it might be easy to notice that it consists primarily of illustrated guides to fish...

He eventually takes one of the guidebooks on fish of the Pacific Ocean over to the south tunnel to hang out for a bit and see what he can identify. Why not, right? It's something to do.]

Ah, my younger sister is particularly fond of fish. I wanted to get something positive out this, so I decided to set some of these aside to take back to her when we find a way out.

...I see. She must be important to you, isn't she?

Indeed, she is. There are plenty of people who will be looking after her back home, but I'll admit that I am still very worried for her.

I can see why. Family would be top of a lot of people's minds.

[Nira's a bit confused at what he's doing for a moment, before noticing him comparing the book to the fish. Well, she supposes that makes sense.]

Everything match up so far? [She wouldn't put it past the Professor to purposefully give them some inaccurate information.]

[He flips a few pages to see what that particular fish swimming by might be...]

Yeah, I suppose. Fish and Water-types were never my thing, but I bet Adam would like it here if we weren't also trapped.

To tell the truth, my younger sister is far more interested in fish themselves than I am, although I do enjoy fishing as a sport. I can’t exactly do that here, though.

[Nira gazes out at all the fish surrounding them.] Yeah, probably not. Though there might be some way to catch them that only the staff have access to. [There's plenty of fish dishes available in the kitchen, after all.]

[ Well, it's probably a little wild to Seteth, but as conveyor belt's go it's pretty standard. It's not like a baggage claim, it only goes from the door to the kitchen at one end to the other - no way to take food back into the kitchen. How Wasteful! ]

[It really is!! Well, he’ll head on over to the door to the kitchen, then. Perhaps to lecture them about being pointlessly wasteful.]

[ Well, the door doesn't open on approach. Is he going to try to get the kitchen's attention in any way? ]

[Hey, Seteth. Seeing him staring out at the fish while checking a book is... interesting?? She's not sure what to make of it.]

Ah, I’m trying to see if I can learn more about the fish outside from this guide. Many of them are unfamiliar to me, and...

[He shrugs a bit.]

Well, it’s a way to pass the time, isn’t it?

[Not the way she'd choose to go about passing time, but she's been restless here so sure, why not. She comes over and glances up at the fish.]

...Are they all edible?

[ah yes, asking only the most important questions here.]

I... think technically so. I do recall reading about this one specific fish that has extremely deadly poison in almost all of its organs, but if you prepare it correctly it's edible.

I really have to wonder about the first person to actually figure that out...

Ah, I’m mostly just trying to learn things about where we are, for the most part. Maybe I’ll move to fiction once I have a better handle on that, but until then, it’s mostly research.

Getting the scope of things then. I understand. Hard to say how much of that is going to help us in this situation though.

It may help us once we get out, at least. I know that’s making several assumptions, but I want to be prepare for both the best case scenario and the worst.
