Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

[ Good move! Strategically sound, using prior evidence. So as not to interrupt you and Jonathan over there, we'll give you this here!

Once Obi and Jonny do manage to fall asleep (and once anyone falls asleep, this week), they'll be teleported! ... To about a foot above a shallow area of the pond in the garden. Big apologies to the fish. ]

[ FUCK'S SAKE JONATHAN WE WERE ALL JUST TALKING ABOUT THIS ]

[Obi wakes about eleven inches above the shallow area of the pond in the garden, which gives him just enough time to splutter out a startled:] Wha—?!

[SPLOOSH!

RIP in pieces, boys.]

[Eventually, Jonathan fell sound asleep against Obi. It was... nice, in a weird way. Even if the threat of murder was more real, he felt absolutely safe sleeping next to him.

But the moment of comfort is unceremoniously shattered when he is startled awake by being dumped into the garden pond. He flails and sputters, not registering what is happening beyond the fact that he was in water. Eventually, he opens his eyes and realizes that he's in the garden, and in no real danger of drowning.

He sees Obi next to him and is just... baffled by this whole ordeal.]

What on Earth just happened?

[ okay but yes, for comedic purposes he's still actually here and he's running over to the fish pond angrily ]

—Are you fucking kidding me with this shit?!

He sure did spent most of Sunday evening insisting to Nandor that he wouldn't fall asleep outside his room again.

His face is absolutely red with embarrassment the moment they lock eyes.]

E-evening, Nandor. I wasn't aware you were still awake.

I am always awake in this underwater shitbox! [ this isn't even remotely true but listen, whatever, ] How are you going to keep on occurring under these circumstances, Jonathan Harker? Did we not just go over this at the last house meeting?!

Before then I was unaware that my Mina was in danger! I... I had to try something to at least reunite with her! Surely you must understand that this wasn't due to carelessness!

[Obi raises his hand like they’re in class.]

I started it, sir. And I encouraged him.

[ He looms angrily for a bit longer, but really, what's he going to do here? ]

Fine. But Jonathan? You are now on official suite probation. [ And he will figure out what that entails... eventually! To Obi: ] You, eh, I can't really do anything about, so just don't do it again?

[ He pauses, considering something in silence. ]

You should... really not try to get into that room.

[Does Nandor know something he doesn’t? ‘Cause, like. That sounds fake.]

[ AH, HE'S FUCKED HIMSELF INTO IMMEDIATELY ADMITTING COMPROMISING INFORMATION ONCE AGAIN ]

You saw the crispy little guy with the tail in there?

Uh, yeees? I saw the tail, yeah.

[He gives Obi a worried glance. It was technically Jonathan's own idea to sleep in the meeting room, he just didn't realize that Obi had gone there first.

When he turns back to Nandor and hears his punishment, however, the frustration is immediately replaced with worry as he feels a sick feeling in his stomach.]

... Please don't lock me in my room.

[That came out much more meekly than intended.]

[He’s helping! It’s called lying, Jonny!]

... Okay? I... did not say I would.

[ You can practically hear the cartoon blink sound effect as he stands there! ]

O-oh, when you said that there would be a suite probation, I feared that I would be locked in my room again.

[Sorry buddy your idol kind of sucks.]

[giddyundertaker]

[ Ah, the Undertaker was going to start actually scouting out funeral plots in the more likely event of someone dying horribly.

But then he sees two men getting dunked in the pond, which is clearly the most hilarious thing so far.

So he's laughing at you both. You're welcome. ]

Yeah, yeah, laugh it up.

[As he drags himself out of the pond…]

[ Look on the bright side, you earned one (1) coupon for getting dirt from him later!

For now, he's still kind of giggly when Obi manages to get out of the water. ]

Now that's a sight you don't see every day!

[Once he makes it to dry land, he shakes out his boots and clothes as best he can.]

What’d it look like? Did we really just… appear here?

... Why, yes. About a foot above the water, I think.

[ Thinking about it now, that does seem incredibly odd. ]

How in the world did that happen?

[Jonathan is pulling the seaweed from his undergarments as he wads his way out of the water.]

I suppose it explains how the Mayor was able to lock me in that isolation chamber without any known exits. He likely has some sort of magical abilities to teleport people.

[giddyundertaker]

[ ... The seaweed thing is slightly amusing. You got him grinning. ]

Either that or some teleportation device. He did mention something about technology being indistinguishable from magic when we all first met him, remember?

Either way, it might explain how he brought all of us here to start with, too.
