WEEK 1
Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?
There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!
Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
FRIDAY | SATURDAY
[ ooc: Welcome to peace week! Feel free to mingle (and investigate, if you like) to your hearts' content! Please ensure all investigation toplevels are marked accordingly, and otherwise enjoy! If you wish to talk to The Captain or Davy Jones, look here for the former and here for the latter! ]

He's currently examining the cover of one book--something about a mermaid version of Romeo and Juliet, with zombies thrown in just because. One of the mermaids seems to have squid tentacles instead of the traditional fish tail. He glances over towards Flayn, who seems to be absorbed in another book.]
Y'know, if I didn't know any better, I'd think the Captain and ol' Jonesy were shagging each other.

Blinks.
Tilts head a little.]
I am afraid I do not know what that means.
no subject
Oh, you know. Porking, smashing, banging, boning, shagging, a bit of "how's yer father", buttering the biscuit--
[A pause. His grin only grows wider.]
--you know. Having sex.
no subject
[But golly that sure is a lot of fun words to use instead!
Somewhere in the multiverse, Seteth is having a fucking meltdown and he doesn't know why.]
no subject
[He tilts his head to the side.]
Find anything interestin' in those books, Ms. Saint Baby?
no subject
If you mean interesting as in of interest to me, then yes. I have not been able to read such stories despite my search for them, so I am taking advantage of the opportunity.
no subject
Oh? A fan of romance novels, then?
[He gives her a sort of lopsided smile, tucking his hands into his pockets.]
Figures that being a saint means you don't get access to a lot of fun things. What's your standard reading material like, then?
no subject
[There's that sort of high-sounding "I want to laugh nervously but also not" sort of sound to her voice that keeps it from being stilted - because she's not lying. She never claimed to be anything.
Even if it is true.]
But, ah, reading material...usually I am allowed free access to academic books, such as magical theory or tactics. The monastery I live in also has quite a few records on historical events that are available for perusal. And, given my brother's position in the Church, he can approve my requests to read some of the more delicate scriptures the monastery keeps preserved.
[It's honestly more to catch up with being plunked into a country that developed a religion while you were asleep than it is religious scholarly pursuit, but, semantics.]
However, my brother has also gone through the trouble to confiscate and ban things like these romantic books, so I thought I ought to make the most of them while no one can take them away.
no subject
No offense, but your brother sounds like a twat. You're well over a thousand years old, if your profile is to be believed--surely, you can take care of yourself.
[He squints at her, tilting his head to the side. Trying to take in her mannerisms as if that'd give him some sort of insight as to what she is.]
So if you aren't a saint, what are you?
[He's just immediately assuming that she's some sort of weird Christian...entity, or something. She mentioned the Church, so....]
no subject
[This is very obviously a lie. Like. A deaf person could tell it was a lie. Flayn's stilted way of speaking, the pointedness, the "youths" comment...she's lying. It's funny and almost sad how poorly this girl is lying.
She's put her book down now, and her hands are folded over it, and - frankly, aside from the green hue of her hair and how bright her eyes are, there's nothing immediately unusual about her? She just looks young, maybe a little short and a bit too polite to be "roughly" a teenager.]
I am simply Flayn. That is all.
no subject
Whatever you say, 'simply Flayn'.
[He shoves his hands into his pockets.]
I'm 'simply' John Constantine. You said you grew up in a monastery?
no subject
I did not grow up there as much as I was currently living there. My brother served the Archbishop of the Church of Seiros as her advisor in the past. But now...I think his heart is set on other matters.
no subject
I've never heard of the Church of Seiros.
[Though, now he figures that confirms his suspicions that she might be from another world. Shame.]
Y'mean your brother doesn't have time to spend time with you. Is that what you're getting at?
no subject
[She's at least picked up on the different universes things with ease.
Flayn takes a breath, shrugs.] He has always tried his best. I do not begrudge him that. And when he does have the time...well, "overprotective" and "meddling" are words I would use to describe him, but they do not properly do his actions justice.
no subject
[A brief pause.]
You can look up what a helicopter is in the encyclopedia. I'm sure they've got one here.
[You know, like World Book or something.....people remember World Book, right?]
Siblings. Love 'em or hate 'em, you're bound by blood in the end. So that should mean...something, I suppose.
[For a second, it looks like Constantine wants to say something more, but he visibly hesitates. Then he shakes his head, and the moment passes.]
no subject
I think it means quite a bit, so you are right in that regard. He's the only family I have.
no subject
Hm.
Well, let's not raise any morbid possibilities quite so soon, when it's not entirely necessary....Constantine finds it prudent to switch topics.]
How've you been findin' the cruise so far, then? Enjoying the food and...uh, sights?

[At least someone's...having fun!!! Go, Flayn.]
Maybe if we wanted to, we could start a book club. Figure out which of these books are actually worth reading. Or maybe commiserate over the bad ones.
