WEEK 1
Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?
There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!
Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
FRIDAY | SATURDAY
[ ooc: Welcome to peace week! Feel free to mingle (and investigate, if you like) to your hearts' content! Please ensure all investigation toplevels are marked accordingly, and otherwise enjoy! If you wish to talk to The Captain or Davy Jones, look here for the former and here for the latter! ]

[There's something about the man that makes Constantine distinctly uncomfortable, but he can't place his finger on it. It takes a few moments for him to realize why. With anyone else, Constantine usually knows how to push their buttons and figure out how they tick--what they like, what they dislike, what kinds of things they want to avoid telling other people.
But Data? Data's an android--and how do you con a machine?]
I slept well enough. [A pause. Constantine squints at Data, propping himself up on the edge of his bed.] What's your game, then?
[The question is...vague, and not at all helpful, probably.]
no subject
I enjoy poker. And chess.
no subject
[He frowns.]
Everything has things that they want in life. Money, power, acceptance from others--you can figure someone out pretty easily if you ask the right questions.
[He makes a vague gesture with his hand.]
But you--I don't have a bloody clue what you want. Knowledge? A closer look at humankind?
no subject
[Wow, asking the right question was super easy!]
no subject
Huh.
[He lets out a quiet scoff, almost in disbelief. There's silence as he thinks over what to say next. It's a rarity for Constantine to even shut his mouth ever, much less a minute.]
Now why on earth would you want to do that? Surely, you've noted in your observations of humanity that it's fraught with nothing but misery and suffering?
no subject
You are capable of such things, but you are also capable of experiences like joy and love. I suppose there can be no gain without some risks.
no subject
Sure. Whatever you say.
[(archie riverdale voice) the epic highs and lows of being human
He scoots out of bed (the bottom bunk??? probably) and takes a moment to stretch, cracking a joint in his back.]
You ask me, the bad shit outweighs the good a fair amount.
no subject
I would not know. I have not had any "good shit".
no subject
Well, hopefully this cruise'll offer you something. I doubt it, though.
Seek it out, and maybe you'll see what it's like. But you'll do well to remember that the "good shit" in life--things like love 'n joy? It's a kind of magic in of itself. And when it comes to magic, the price is always higher than the prize.
[Which, more or less, sums up Constantine's attitude towards life. He begins walking towards the door, then pauses, glancing back towards Data.]
Don't suppose you eat breakfast, do you?
no subject
[And maybe he doesn't have another argument, right now. Sometimes, you know, shit be bad.
But anyway - he stands as well.]
I do not. I can eat, but it is neither necessary nor enjoyable.
no subject
[His initial hostility and prickly tone now subsiding, he peers at Data with a slightly more curious air about him.]
So, what do you find enjoyable, then? Getting refueled, having your wires calibrated or whatever? Things to reinforce good behavior?
no subject
[So like, what's the point of food]
Why do you believe that would be irresponsible?
no subject
[Sometimes--all the time, actually--Constantine is stupid.]
I dunno. Bringing something into the world and consciously choosing to give it the ability to feel things--negative and positive--seems strange. S'like, you didn't even ask if this was something it wanted....
[He trails off. Constantine rubs the back of his neck, looking a bit uncomfortable.]
...Did they give you a choice?
no subject
[Not that he really knew the man well enough to tell. But he'd like to think he would have, in a totally emotionless manner of course.]
But most beings do not get such a choice.
no subject
You mean the bloke who made you, right?
[A soft snort. He shakes his head.]
At least he actually listened to you. More than what plenty of other human fathers can speak for.
no subject
[Data thinks well of him but let's be honest he suuuuuucked and ten to one he would not have cared]
That was the only time we met, that I can remember.
no subject
Oh.
[At least Data doesn't seem to fussed about it. Constantine falls quiet, rubbing the back of his neck.]
Not long enough to develop daddy issues, I reckon.
no subject
[oh honey]
