WEEK 1
Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?
There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!
Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
FRIDAY | SATURDAY
[ ooc: Welcome to peace week! Feel free to mingle (and investigate, if you like) to your hearts' content! Please ensure all investigation toplevels are marked accordingly, and otherwise enjoy! If you wish to talk to The Captain or Davy Jones, look here for the former and here for the latter! ]

What are you planning to do with this?

[And apparently this something involves veeeeery long elastic ropes]
I know this isn't the most pratical way to do this, but I don't have better materials! I just need something really elastic and long, so I thought this rope would work.

[He looks a little proud of himself when he said that, for some reason]
...but it involves these elastic things pulling from these large hollow spheres filled with confetti, pretty much.
[...so much for the party secret]
no subject
[He is stronger than you, and the threat of broken bones is sort of concerning.]
no subject
[Definitely yes. He's already having a hard time trying to keep this thing from slipping from his paws, someone with far more strength and also fingers would be a huge help]
Make sure you keep pulling until you can't no more! And kinda twist it, I'm trying to make this...uh... [Where is it...aha. Filbo gets a partially constructed hollow paper sphere] ...this here spin. It goes tied to the end, so when the elastic rope is released, it pulls this ball across the room, spinning all the way.
[It's a good thing Filbo got days to plan this. The odds of success without planning are almost zero]
...or something like that. I don't even know if it's gonna work.
no subject
[Data leans down to take the rope in one hand, and just sorta...god, he can just pull that a whole heck of a lot, can't he? Twisting, too, this dude's strong as heck.]
no subject
I'd like to! But there's only so much you can do while you're trying to keep this kinda a secret? And...making these balls take longer than I thought they would. Testing doesn't seem like an option if I want to have everything ready in time.
...but hey, when has a lack of careful prototyping ever ruined a plan?
[He grins wryly. He knows damn well the answer to that rethorical question. Filbo hates having to cut corners, nothing good comes from that]
no subject
As long as you are sure it will not be dangerous.
no subject
Okay, it's tied. Let it go, Data!
[Time to see if this is going to move like he expects, but also if it'll be safe]
no subject
[And he lets it go!]

Twisting the rubber bands really did its job -- while the sphere crossed the deck towards the railing, the rop bucked wildly in circles, slamming the paper half-ball against the floor with such violence pieces of the ball fly all over the place, noises like an eggshell getting thrown against a wall sounding every time it hit the floor. Not only that, the speed the ball passes by is very dangerous, to the point anyone standing nearby risked serious injury. Finally, when what little remains from the half-ball reaches the railing, the impact obliterates the remains, leaving only a small piece tied to the end of the elastic rope.
Filbo can only be silent for a moment before sheepishly scratching the back of his head and muttering:]
...I'm scrapping this idea.
[No way he can make it safe before the party. Alas]
no subject
Yes, that may be for the best.

[Casual low-level engineering, he means]
