WEEK 1
Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?
There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!
Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
FRIDAY | SATURDAY
[ ooc: Welcome to peace week! Feel free to mingle (and investigate, if you like) to your hearts' content! Please ensure all investigation toplevels are marked accordingly, and otherwise enjoy! If you wish to talk to The Captain or Davy Jones, look here for the former and here for the latter! ]

Filbo's room has seen quite a bit of activity. The wall he covered with paper held by duct tape -- boy is he going to feel silly when the cork boards start being shown around here -- has been steadily filled with a menagerie of information. A mediocre diagram of the places of the ship, little notes about people's likes and dislikes, a to-do list, and, curiously enough, survival in the wilderness tips, like he was trying to remember something he heard once, before circling one.
Perhaps that's why he's early in the deck near the pool. Having grabbed a couple deck lounge chairs, he dragged them away from the pool and placed a pot on them so the pot is hanging from the handles placed on the chairs, leaving the pot suspended in the air. Filling the pot with water from bottles obtained from the vending machine was simple enough, so after covering the top of the pot, there was nothing to do but waiting. Good thing he has plenty to do in the meantime.
Perhaps you'll find him reading. He's got a good amount of books from the library -- most of them nonfiction -- and a small pile of snacks. There's one specific one he's reading right now -- the Tome of the Unknown, obtained from that vending machine. It's not a doomed sailor soul, but it's...
...unnerving.
Maybe it's because of that when he sees someone approaching, he grabs a different book and tries to show them something he found amusing:]
Haha, hey, do you want to see something? I was reading this other book over here, and I found a picture of the Davy Grump from my world! He looks really different from the one from this world. And the image shows humans too.
[The image he shows is...quite something, all things considered.
Later, though, he's unraveling T-shirt souvenirs to extract threads out of it and tying rubber bands together. There's also a half-made hollow sphere made of paper and cardboard. Those office supply vending machines are a blessing in disguise, really. He doesn't have any paint, unfortunately, but hey, it doesn't really matter. At least he's working.
There he goes, tying the long rubber band rope he made to a railing and stretching it all the way to the other side of the deck. The elastic rope is very, very taut. Filbo stares at it and quickly gets regrets:]
Ah...I wouldn't get close if I were you. I'm starting to think if this snaps and you're right beside it, you're gonna break a bone.
[Filbo makes a mental note: more rubber bands will be needed, so these makeshift ropes won't be so taut once extended]

That book... where did you get it?

[Oh thank goodness, someone to distract him from this book. He hurries to look away from it, closing the book to avoid reading the descriptions inside]
It was inside that special vending machine. I was there, putting coins in, when this popped out! It's...a really ominous machine, if it's giving things like this book.
no subject
[She steps up closer, frowning.]
Though, I wonder how the machine here acquired this, given that it's from Auntie Whispers personal collection. Unless... it somehow ended up here in the same manner that the rest of us have?
no subject
[Filbo really hurries to give it back, please take it to your aunt and never let him see it ever again]
The Captain better not have gone around stealing stuff from our families. Still, why to put it in that machine instead of leaving it in our room or something? Did he just not want that strange book any longer?
[Well, perfectly feasible, really]
no subject
Thank you. Auntie Whispers would be furious if she thought that she wasn't going to get this back.
[But as for Filbo's question...]
I don't know. I suppose it is possible that the Captain... did not like the contents of this book and decided to put it into that strange machine, but then why take it to begin with? It is very odd.

[Trying to joke a little, it seems -- but he can't deny Lorna has a good point there! What the heck, Captain, did you change your thievery ways all of a sudden?]

[This fur absorbs water like a sponge, seriously. Grumpuses may be good at holding their breath, but he's not going to last until he gets to the shore, hah]
It's for the party. I can't give too many details because it's kinda a surprise, but I promise my motives aren't harmful.

What are you planning to do with this?
no subject
[And apparently this something involves veeeeery long elastic ropes]
I know this isn't the most pratical way to do this, but I don't have better materials! I just need something really elastic and long, so I thought this rope would work.

no subject
[He looks a little proud of himself when he said that, for some reason]
...but it involves these elastic things pulling from these large hollow spheres filled with confetti, pretty much.
[...so much for the party secret]

[He is stronger than you, and the threat of broken bones is sort of concerning.]
no subject
[Definitely yes. He's already having a hard time trying to keep this thing from slipping from his paws, someone with far more strength and also fingers would be a huge help]
Make sure you keep pulling until you can't no more! And kinda twist it, I'm trying to make this...uh... [Where is it...aha. Filbo gets a partially constructed hollow paper sphere] ...this here spin. It goes tied to the end, so when the elastic rope is released, it pulls this ball across the room, spinning all the way.
[It's a good thing Filbo got days to plan this. The odds of success without planning are almost zero]
...or something like that. I don't even know if it's gonna work.

[ She just wanted to know what the pot was for! It looked kind of like a cauldron setup! What is happening right now, and why isn't she the most confusing person involved? ]
no subject
[Magica just needed to say six words to dampen Filbo's mood kinda. He's not rude to her face, but her mere presence is enough to make him a little bit more subdued]
no subject
[ Looks like somebody mostly wasn't listening to the Davy Jones roundtable when he showed up! Mostly because she was apoplectic with rage, but. ]
no subject
He doesn't look like this image because he's the Davy Jones of this world, I guess, but it's him.
no subject
[ She gets exactly what he means, and at this point is just annoyed that she was confused to begin with! So the solution is just to be miserable and rude. But this still is a pretty interesting find... ]
Huh. Is he belching flame?
no subject
[Spirits of the sea and spitting fire doesn't seem like it meshes well together, he thinks]
