And we're all adrift together through the cold mist, 'til we're lifeless together
[The preparations hit differently this time.
Last weekend was at least an attempt at being festive, even with the light supplies they have; at being joyous, at giving people at least one nice thing to look back upon before things inevitably took a turn for the worse. And now two people are dead, and instead of trying to figure out structure placement and how best to keep everyone entertained and occupied and well-fed, the preparations now are given to much more practical purposes.
Large amounts of bottled water from the machine. Bagels and bread and muffins, light starchy things to avoid forcing anyone to keep meat or seafood down after seeing a corpse. Fruit for the sake of providing energy. Avoiding including bananas for any reason. Quietly pulling aside one of the first people she sees with any experience in the matter and asking them to help her make tea.
Once she's got one of the tables at the party zone set up and the tea is on its way to being prepared, she'll set around letting people know; the invitations are simple, written in Freyja's broad, elegant handwriting:
I think another gathering tonight would be beneficial. Not to celebrate, but to remember; perhaps more importantly, to ensure that no one is alone if they don't want to be.
Tonight is hard. There is nothing further to do but get through it.]

But Lady Freyja asked her to make tea.
So Flayn makes tea.
It's actually not hard to do - you boil water and pour it over the tea bags, and nothing gets burned or crunchy or weird, so Flayn's tea is 100% drinkable. It's no Sweet Apple Blend, but it'll do, it'll do. And there's plenty of it, poured out into little styrofoam cups with accompanying dishes of sugar packets and those individual cups of cream. If you happen to come in, whoever you are - yes, even if you're Alice or Magica - Flayn will bring you a cup of tea.]
This is for you.
[There's a weariness to her, a heavy sorrow, that comes only from long experience with staring down death, but. Let's not talk about that.
When she's not handing out tea, Flayn squirrels herself away in a corner, back against the wall, sipping lightly from her own cup and slowly picking at a muffin. She's not very hungry.]

Flayn. I wanted to thank you, deeply, for your assistance; I appreciate your help in ensuring that this passes as well as possible.

...She elects not to go, at least for now. Maybe if she feels hungry later, but the last thing she wants to see is a bunch of humans. Mostly because for all of the anger she had earlier, it seems to have dampened into something of a numb feeling, despite Plumeria's best efforts. She doesn't like that; fury is at least something better than the cold, numbness of it all.
So she stokes it by going into the library. Promptly taking that one book about unconditional love that failed at the finish line to tear the pages out with surprising care. There's nothing but anger on Plumeria's face, a bitter look and reminder of what could have happened today, but she sets the papers aside as she rips them, waiting until she hits about ten...and then starts folding them into paper cranes. Screw it. She can funnel her spite into getting better than Zero at these, for now.
...But even Plumeria has human weaknesses, and while it's later on, she will hit the party zone for food. She's very avoidant of people for the time being, but it's clear that this case has had an effect on her. She won't be the most sociable, but feel free to try and chat.]
Party Zone
She's going to make you a fresh cup of tea and bring that and some sugar and cream along with her when she approaches. Just. Puts it on the table and doesn't get too close, since you seem like you don't want people in your business.]
Here. You ought to drink something.
[It's okay, Lady Freyja asked her to help.]
The warmth of the cup might be soothing as well, if you do not feel up to it.

He's only human, however, and eventually, he realizes that he hasn't eaten a full meal since last night--just picking at things at the buffet, really. So he drags himself to the buffet, sullenly piling his plate up and making his way to a table near the side of the room. He nibbles at a chocolate chip muffin, brow furrowed deeply in thought.
Later on, Constantine can be seen on the top deck, a bottle of Malort in hand. Things have been cleaned up, the body has been removed to God-knows-where. He's brought up a pile of trash from the vending machine, chucking things as far as possible out into the ocean.
He only speaks when approached, though he doesn't turn to face the person.]
Help yourself. God knows there's going to be more of this shit coming out of the machine.

He hadn't spoken to Shard before today, and that had been very... how the hell does he deal with that? He knows what it's like to be used as a weapon against your will.
He hadn't been the most social of people at the last gathering, but this has really changed things.
He's noticeably subdued, drinking quietly and picking at some of the food he's gotten from the party zone.]

Need a conversation partner?
[It's pretty clear that he's doing his best to remain upbeat, but he's definitely nowhere near 100%. He's smiled his way through a lot of terrible situations, but...nothing quite like this. He's still very upset about what happened, but he wants to be strong for the others.
After the gathering has died down and he helps pick up, he eventually makes his way to the top deck to just...try to give himself some alone time and vibe with the stars like many of the others have made habits of. He's not making himself unapproachable though, and will turn to anyone who approaches.
...he's definitely a little startled, though, and very conspicuously wipes away a stray tear beforehand.]
Oh, hello, darling. Wanted to get some fresh air, too?
[It feels weird now, considering what happened up here today, but...It really has the best view.]
top deck
Er, yeah. You could say that.
[Ugh. He rubs the back of his neck, looking off to the side. He's not good at dealing with emotions, but it'd be weird not to at least acknowledge Sylvando's demeanor. He tilts his head to the side ever so slightly, coming closer to Sylvando.]

But no. Instead he's out and about pretty quickly. He's not as upbeat as usual, but he's out there. Filbo doesn't break down when things get real ugly -- he bottles it all up, only leaves his regrets out, and just...gets introspective.
It takes him a while to go to the gathering Freyja organized, though. The first thing he does is go outside, to the deck, where Carmen had died. Filbo leans on the railing, watching the sea. He's trying hard not to think about how the creature that ate Shard was probably right there.
Still...if someone approaches, Filbo says something that seems a little out of the blue:]
Disappearing forever seems like a kinder fate than dying, you know? Knowing someone's dead feels so final. At least if you never see a person again and you never find out if they're alive or dead, there's always a chance they're out there doing whatever they can with themselves.
[That's kind of grim, really. It may come as a surprise something so grim comes out of Filbo's mouth. But at the same time, there's that almost evergreen undercurrent of optimistic thought Filbo tends to have.
Still, he can't just not go to something Freyja is hosting. Even though he's feeling pretty down in the dumps, he attends the gathering]
...thanks for being here. I know being among other people at a time like this is tough, but that you're here, well, it says a lot about your strength.
[He doesn't say it because it's his gathering, it's 100% Freyja. He says thank you because he hopes it can help others feel even a little bit better. Even at the worst of times, there's him, trying to at least help others feel a little lighter. It's clumsy, and he's by no means somebody experienced in providing counseling of any sort, but at least saying something helps? Hopefully?]

How are you doing after all of that? It's been a very rough day, ja?
[He's more subdued than usual, and he'll offer you a cup of tea if you don't already have one.
Later on in the evening, he's taken up residence in the buffet where he's going to be mixing drinks. He's humming to himself as he works, though he's still nowhere near as cheerful as usual. Feel free to swing by if you want something, otherwise he's here to talk and not think too much about anything that just happened.]

He's likely one of the first to show up to the party, quickly availing himself to the spread of food: his selection is several muffins as long as they're not bran or corn, and a cup of grapes with a side of cherries. ]
All thing's considered, today was a success.
[ After he's done eating he doesn't linger, opting to go up on the deck with some paper and a pen. Curious eyes will find he's sketching the kraken they all became more acquainted with several hours earlier. ]

... So she powerwalks over to room 5, slams the door behind her, leans against it as if her weight is enough to prevent literally anyone from entering, and laughs and laughs and laughs. Anyway!
She shows up at the party zone early, and there's no attempt made to conceal her good mood even if she's not about to force it on anyone else — no need to cause another fight, after all. She hums to herself as she fiddles around with Carmen's device, but if her attention's caught she's perfectly willing to converse with people about what just happened and what might happen in the future. This doesn't mean she won't snap right back to her usual self if provoked; for now, however, she has a contented air, almost as if she's basking in the pathos of it all.
Later still you can find her on the top deck, the victim's not-phone in one hand and a cup of tea in the other. She looks out at the horizon, considering the merits of simply chucking it back into a watery grave, she looks down at the (non death-related) railing before her... and, finally, she turns her head to you! ]

She pauses, staring over at the now-empty pool for a moment, before she turns around and runs to fling herself over the edge of the railing, not even taking off her labcoat. Once more, she's trying to get a good look at the kraken. And maybe see if it'll take the bagel.]

It was an accident, Adeline.
