FINAL INVESTIGATION

Good morning, passengers. You've made landfall.

The ship arrives at the shore of the island early in the morning, suddenly grinding to a halt for the first time in weeks. A ramp is lowered directly onto the beach, and The Captain almost immediately hops down it, laughing the whole while as he does. Jones stands on the ship, not following, and The Captain addresses you:

"Don't take too long! We have business in that lighthouse, you and I."

Without another word, The Captain heads towards a path on the beach that heads lighthouse-ward, but not before turning back again.

"And Jones! Head to your ship and ready the crew for when this is over."

Jones seems... not quite content to do this, whatever it is, but after a minute or so for any last conversation, he vanishes into a wall.

With both of your captors no longer on board, the ship is quiet. Its engines are stalled, the journey over. If you wish to survive the day, you're going to have to go onto that island and face The Captain once and for all.

But first... there are some areas you definitely haven't explored yet! If you're going to go in with all the information you need, might be time to take advantage of this situation...

AREA 3 - THE THEATRE (BACKSTAGE)

[ Come poke around in Davy Jones's business! Yeager, Flayn, and Zaveid, here's your area! ]

[Finally... He's been waiting weeks for this!! Hopefully Davy Jones doesn't mind us being rude and investigating now; it's not like we'll have another chance at it, anyway.

So aside from the organ, what all does this place have to take a look at? Yeager's going to dump his stuff off near the entrance, though he's keeping his massive scythe with him.]

[ There's not a whole lot out here in the open - the stage is pretty bare today, but... there's stage left and stage right, if you've wanted to peek behind the curtain and head backstage! ]

[Stage left it is! He isn't even going to bother asking his companions, he's just going. So how are things looking back here?]

[ Stage Left will take you to an old prop room, Yeager! The props are dusty, but the room is well-stocked, if you were the performing sort.

Less dusty and actually lit by a light in the ceiling are the chair and table over at the other end of the room ]

[There's probably something to be said here about how every day of his life is an act of some sort, but anyway!! Since all those props are dusty, they clearly aren't important. Anything else to note about them as he heads over to the table and chair?

And speaking of those, what's going on back here?]

[ There's certainly no cause to go digging through them without a reason! There's a lot of junk in here.

But the table and chair do look decently used, compared to the dust in the rest of the room. And there's a book on the table! ]

[Hmm! What kind of book is this? Is it already open to a specific page? Yeager's absolutely going to skim through it for anything important, so what all do we have to find here?]

It’s a really intimidating volume… luckily there’s a bookmark partway through! ]

[Well, Yeager's going to the left, so Zaveid will head right.]

[ That'll take you to... a bedroom! It was clearly not originally a bedroom - probably it was more something like a dressing room - but now there's a bed and a desk and a few other assorted fun things!

The strong smell of salt and wood in the air tells you who this room probably belongs to. ]

[...Huh.]

Guess we know where he spent at least some of time.

[Okay, well... he's going to take a look at the bed, because while Zaveid is an earth spirit, he does still need some amount of sleep.

Does it look slept in? Untouched? Is it perhaps not a bed at all but a very realistic painting of one?]

Oh, dear. The Captain made him sleep back here?

Seems that way.

But it is so small - like a closet! How cruel...especially compared to that whole setup the Captain has.

[ Perhaps luckily, this bed looks as though it has not been slept in for a long time. ]

[Yeah, that's about what he expected, given Jones' availability.

Does it look like it's covered in dust?]

[ Yeah, that's about the state of it.

There are, however, a few slightly less dusty empty bottles on it. ]

[ Well, there's the makeshift desk by the dressing room mirror? ]

[...man. It's hard to believe there's so few of them now. It's kind of alarming. And they have no time for this.]

...What do you think he's been hiding back here? This entire time he hasn't acted like this was his choice, after all.
