Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

[Early morning in suite 3, anyone stepping out of their rooms and into the common area will quickly notice the smell of food. There's rice, eggs, toast... It's simple, compared to the extravagant meals in the restaurant, but it's certainly filling and it smells good. There's enough for five people, too, and anyone who comes over will be greeted with a bright smile.]

Good morning. Breakfast is ready, so I hope you're hungry. It's the most important meal of the day, after all.

[For most of the day after that, you can find Mafuyu in the library. What she's doing there depends on the time of day.

In the morning and most of the afternoon, she has a collection of different books on different subjects. History, geography, biology-- Judging by the topics and how intently she's reading them, it would seem she's studying. Anyone tell this girl she's not gonna get a pop quiz later?

She leaves a few times, briefly, to eat and such, before she's back there again. And she's there late. Perhaps inadvisable, considering what happened with Jonathan, but she doesn't seem worried about falling asleep.

This time, she's hidden away a bit more into a corner. The books she had earlier in the day have all been swapped out for ones on music, be it history or just music theory. And... is she humming something?]

[Joy mostly stayed out of Mafuyu's way in the library when she was in here earlier, reading Slaughterhouse-Five. She looked busy, and Joy's not in the habit of bothering people when they're working.

When she swings by after dinner to grab a book to read before bed and Mafuyu's still there, though, Joy feels like maybe she should gently remind her about not falling asleep in the library.]

It's getting late. At least take the books to your room so you don't end up in shame jail like Jonathan.

[She blinks a little. There's a beat, then another, where Mafuyu is sort of processing that statement, before she shakes her head and smiles.]

...It's okay, I'm not tired yet. I'm not about to fall asleep here.

[allatonce]

Sure, but when you do get tired are you going to be able to put all this away and make your way back to the rooms?

[She sounds like her mother, eugh. But also she's, like, an Adult™ here so she feels obligated.]

He never really clarified what counts as "falling asleep."

I'm very confident I'll be able to. I don't exactly want to end up as Harker-san did, either...

[Things that looked fun: not that.]

I know my limits pretty well.

[She's mom friend, but she's not annoying mom friend.]

What's so important that it can't wait until tomorrow, though?

[ Seo Dawon wanders over sometime in the afternoon after spotting Mafuyu and her study club. ]

Expecting a pop quiz later?

[She laughs a little at the comment.]

Not exactly. But just because I'm stuck here, that doesn't mean I can't keep up with my studies, still.

I don't want to fall behind because of this.

Most people would expect some grace period after they've been kidnapped. [ It's not said like it's a bad thing, though. ]

Do you have all the books you need here? I'd think this library would be missing some things.

[Most people sure would! But Ms. Overachiever here doesn't even acknowledge the point.]

I don't really have the same materials here, so I'm improvising. As long as I continue learning about the same general subjects, I think I shouldn't fall too far behind...

What year are you?

[ Seo Dawon's going to move closer to inspect her pile of books in the meantime, picking them up and flipping through contents. He puts them back in the exact order they were in before, so maybe it's not as intrusive as it could be. ]

[after the Johnny Incident he has identified this as a site of potential risk, so once it's kind of late he's going to check around and see...

ah. Well, she seems a little more alert than is worth worrying about, but...]

I would advise caution if you plan to stay here much longer. Even if you do manage to stay awake, I do not think it is particularly safe.

Ah... um... van Baelsar-san, yes?

[Mr. Poor Little Woof Woof himself, yes, she remembers.]

I appreciate the warning, but there's no need to worry. I'll only be here a little bit longer, and I certainly won't be falling asleep here.

Very well. I only wish to avoid any other... incidents like the one yesterday.

...though, admittedly, perhaps I should not be that concerned.

[because somehow johnny is even more moe through helplessness than the actual teenagers here.]

I've always been good at taking care of myself. And... we know the risks, now.

If nothing else, I'm a little grateful to Harker-san. Now we know what will happen if we fall asleep elsewhere.

I suppose I cannot say I do not feel the same, though I am glad he did not come to any serious harm. If it had been anything but a minor infraction, I doubt he would have been so fortunate.

[ Hodaka's in the library too. He isn't exactly studying, though. He's got a different kind of book under his arm. ]

Are those...textbooks?

Ah, Morishima-san! Hm, that's right. I'm trying to stay up to date on my studies, even if only a little...

[withagun]

[ He can’t help but grimace a little. ]

Even though we’re kidnapped? I think…maybe you have an excuse not to.

[sastruga]

No, I'd rather not let myself fall behind because of this. I know I could, but...

[She shakes her head a little.]

I feel like I have to keep going as I usually would. Or as close as possible.

...'Cause it makes it easier? Being here?

[ Mielle's gotten so used to eating at the restaurant that she'd almost forgotten they actually had a kitchen in here, even if it's not a particularly exciting one. So it's a surprise when she steps out and sees food already made and ready and even more of a surprise when she realizes just how much of it there is. Mafuyu's gone and made herself quite busy, hasn't she? ]

Good morning, Mafuyu. My, this is quite a feast! [ It's certainly not what they'd get at the restaurant, but she finds herself impressed that Mafuyu's cooked so much so early. ] You certainly didn't need to go to this much trouble for us.

[sastruga]

[Mafuyu immediately seems to brighten at Mielle's arrival. And she shakes her head a little.]

Oh, no, it's really no trouble. I know the restaurant has meals that are a lot more extravagant, but... I thought it would be nice to have something available here, too.

Not to mention it's nice to eat together, as well.

No, no, you shouldn't put yourself down. You've clearly put a great deal of effort in.

[ As if to emphasize her point, she sits herself down at the table, carefully setting herself properly for a meal. ]

Is this the sort of thing you enjoy for breakfast at home?

[sastruga]

Sometimes. My mother usually makes breakfast in the morning, so I eat whatever she makes. But she makes sure there's always a balanced and healthy meal waiting.

I suppose I'm doing my best to be like her and do the same for all of you.
