WEEK 1
Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?
There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!
Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
FRIDAY | SATURDAY
[ ooc: Welcome to peace week! Feel free to mingle (and investigate, if you like) to your hearts' content! Please ensure all investigation toplevels are marked accordingly, and otherwise enjoy! If you wish to talk to The Captain or Davy Jones, look here for the former and here for the latter! ]

investigation
You didn't happen to see anyone restocking these, did you?
[Later, the magician is seen lurking around the library, searching the shelves for any secrets that have been squirreled away. A majority of what he finds, however, is just more trashy romance novels and badly-written thrillers.
After searching for a while, he grows bored and finds himself flipping through a few of the paperbacks to see just what kind of taste the Captain has. He can be found sitting on the floor of the library with a few stacks of books scattered around him. Currently, he's flipping through a book titled "LOVE UNDER THE PALE MOONLIGHT" with a bored expression.
If someone enters the room, he doesn't even look up as he says--]
Don't bother with the demon ones. Horribly inaccurate, and not even in the fun way.
[Eventually, he makes his way up to the top deck to look into what he wanted to investigate in the first place. Constantine strides over to the railing on the side of the ship, then gingerly climbs over it. He grips the metal tightly. The wind whips at his tie and jacket lapels, as if trying to snatch them away from him. Constantine stares down at the deep, dark ocean below and the white waves left in the ship's wake.
It's a long drop.
Is this a stupid idea? Yes, it is. But John Constantine is nothing but stupid in style. Besides, rules are meant to be broken. He sucks in a breath, straightening his tie with one hand.]
Right, then. Let's see what the Captain has in store for ol' Johnny.
[And with that, he lets go of the railing and steps off the side of the ship as easily as one might step into traffic.]
side of the ship
He will probably say something after John poofs back on the boat, but for now he is a silent observer.]
no subject
Frankly, he looks ridiculous with his wet hair essentially flattened against his skull.]
What're you lookin' at, huh?
no subject
[YEP. He has no sense of danger here.]
no subject
[He just didn't know the exact details of what would happen coming out.]
You saw the rules--'try to jump ship, and we'll bring you back'. He doesn't just want us dying willy-nilly--he wants to be intentional with it.

Wow, okay. Not the first one I was expecting to snap, but...
no subject
Oh, sod off, you absolute divvy.
[He takes off his soaked trench coat and starts trying to wring it out. A packet of gummy worms falls out of one of the pockets and onto the deck.]

no subject
[Squeezing water out of his coat seems to be wasted effort, so instead, he just leans over and picks up the dropped gummy worms.]
Maybe we should've pushed you in. Water off a duck's back, and all that.

vending machines
Do you think he does it at night?
no subject
Maybe. That would explain the night and day cycles and his insistence on not falling asleep outside of the rooms, but that's a lot of items. And where is he storing it?
no subject
no subject
[Which is pretty plausible, given what he's demonstrated so far....]
The locks on th' doors don't seem to be able to be picked. Believe me, I've tried.

He'll just kind of salute respectfully...]
no subject
Well, I can confirm without a doubt that we are at sea.
[He's honestly not sure what he was expecting.]
no subject
I suppose it was worth verifying that it was not some sort of elaborate illusion, anyway.

What exactly does he try to do next? ]
no subject
Still, Constantine is nothing but determined, so what he's going to do is try and swim away from the boat. See if there's anything in the water, that kind of thing]
no subject
Bubbles. Lots of bubbles.
And the water is dark, but something is moving under it. Something big. ]

vending machines
[Hi, Constantine. Yeager shrugs a bit at the question.]
We haven't seen anyone except Mr. Jones [yes he is still calling him that] but I'm not sure he's responsible for handling this as well...
[Although the mental image of Davy Jones restocking the vending machines is hilarious.]
no subject
Far as I'm concerned, Jonesy's just been tasked with being a professional babysitter. You think he'd lower himself even further to being a vending machine stock boy?
[Of course, there's always the question of what caused Davy Jones to end up here in the first place....]
You wanna know my thoughts? I think there's people other than us lurkin' around the ship and making sure everything's hunky-dory.
no subject
[But there's also the question of just how much the Captain's forcing him to do, so who knows!! The latter part gets a nod, though.]
That does make sense; it doesn't seem likely that Mr. Jones is handling everything on board! Of course, it's very strange that we haven't seen anyone else yet...

shipside shenaniganry: tentacle edition (1/2)
[Allenby wanders over just in time to see some old dude step off the side of the boat fully clothed, and while she can certainly admire the guts her first reflex is to chase after him and throw herself halfway over the railing trying to call after him -- like, there's an aborted attempt at catching him?
But mostly she just commits to the yelling:]
--NOT GO DIVIN' IN ALL YOUR CLOOOOOTHES!!
[She tried!! And therefore!! No one can criticize her!!]
2/2
no subject
Eight arms, if what little we saw's consistent.
[He seems...less concerned than he should be that he just literally walked off the ship and got flung back with a spout of water.]
Unless the whales here happen to have tentacles, as well.
