Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

[Adaman nods his head and joins Misfire, leaning against the glass before he points to a black haired young woman among the crowd. She seems to be attempting to help take of some of the people there.]

That one, my older sister; her name is Mai. I've known her for as long as I've been alive, and she helped to raise me into the man I am today. [...] ...She's always tried to help others, and take care of them, and it seems no different now.

[ Mielle glances up from picking (admittedly very daintily) at her food to give him a weary smile. ]

I was just lost in my thoughts, I suppose. I'd realized this morning marks an entire week of our being here and... it just struck me how strange that was. I've been quite unable to stop thinking about it.

[Jonathan looks absolutely exhausted when he walks into the meeting room, like this day had aged him 10 years. A pillow and blanket are situated under his arms as he is genuinely shocked to see he's not alone.

There is a brief, humorless laugh before he speaks.]

I suppose we had the same idea.

[Without moving or opening his eyes:]

Going to sleep.

[He makes sure to say it loudly, as if to ensure anyone listening—like a particular mayor—will be fully aware of his intent.]

[Adaman is thankfully drawn back into the present when Joy takes his arm; he starts a bit, but he looks to her with a gaze that's barely there, and...]

...Yes. Yes, we ought to. We cannot waste any time...

[He'll just. Kind of let Joy guide him where ever, at this point. Leafeon follows close behind; the little fox will shoot Joy a bit of a thankful look, even if his ears have certainly drooped in concern.]

[That, at least, gets him to crack one eye open.]

[Mielle’s sister is here, so there’s at least a couple people of that description in Fontaine’s slammer.]

Oh, that might be interesting too!

[ She takes the book and quickly flips it over so she can read the blurb – and brightens even more. ]

And it's a romance, too! I've always been curious to read one, but I've never had the chance. Are there any others you'd recommend?

[ The announcement to gather isn't really shocking, Seo Dawon had figured that sooner or later something would have to give, and after the rule breaking it makes sense it would be the stick and not the carrot. But—

He goes stock still as the Mayor goes through the paces, as the glass turns from opaque to clear. His eyes dart to the window and settle on one particular person, as he unconsciously takes his left hand in his right, fingers playing across his skin. ]

Choi Lee-kyung. [ In the huddle of people but more towards the outside edges is a young man, looking like he's doing his best to be apprehensive and nervous enough for the rest of them. He keeps looking off to the side every now again, like he's expecting to see something or someone pop out of thin air.

His eyes flicker back to the group, lingering too long on some people in particular. Then he listens to all of this, his posture still unchanged.

Finally after several long moments he lets go of the breath he was holding the entire time. ]

It really is fortunate that I don't have access to even my basic spells.

[ Like this mask of one absurdly hideous looking fella. ]

How convenient. I've never heard of anything like that on these..."websites".

[ Vholran doesn't know what an internet is, to be quite honest. Even if he is familiar with other various advanced technology. ]

[Forrest will join him eventually, quietly, as though trying to impose as little as possible with his presence; he doesn't say anything for a little while, and he keeps a respectable amount of distance, but...

Someone special, huh.]

Are you going to be all right, Rossiu? This seems to have hit everyone hard.

[God, he probably shouldn't be this calm about all of this, but someone has to be. Right?

[It doesn't, but...well, Adaman can't blame Hodaka for being here, certainly. So he'll walk over and join Hodaka easily, his look settling into something more somber as he looks into the glass. Seeing Mai here, it's...]

I thank you. I...have been concerned about Mai, so I wanted to see if she was faring alright. It's the same for you, I take it...?

[Obi opens one of those catlike eyes a slit, then chuckles unexpectedly and scoots over a bit.]

Hey. Looking for a nap buddy, Your Honor?

[He opens his blanket more so Jonathan can get under it if he wants.]

We can share body warmth.

[Joy leads him to the elevator, because she figures they're gonna need food for the at least two people that are gonna be glued to that room until something happens and then Adaman can at least feel useful. That's always good, right?

So to the restaurant it is.]

I'm not going to lie and say it'll be okay, but we're smart. We can figure this out.

[Leafeon seems to nod his head in response! He definitely seems pleased that he's being understood; Adaman for his part seems to chuckle brightly, nodding his own head.]

Aha, I am not surprised! Leafeon has lived around us humans for almost as long as I've been alive, all be told; he's quite an intelligent Pokémon, and he's learned well from all of us in the Diamond Clan. Why, I wouldn't be surprised if he could learn to speak with us outright, if given the time!

Ah... um... van Baelsar-san, yes?

[Mr. Poor Little Woof Woof himself, yes, she remembers.]

I appreciate the warning, but there's no need to worry. I'll only be here a little bit longer, and I certainly won't be falling asleep here.

I'm a second year. So, I can't allow myself to start at a disadvantage next year.

[The books are... well, they're not really one to one for what she'd be using at school, most likely. But it's close enough, for this.

If nothing else, it will keep her mind sharp.]

My, you must be a very prolific reader! I mostly end up reading what's assigned in class these days, myself.

[She sets the books down, starting to sort through her little pile.]

Um, let's see... I brought some books on poetry, some short story collections, some sci-fi...

Leafeon, is it...? He's truly quite talented! I'm impressed.

[He also doesn't seem to hate Forrest on sight, which is improvement over most animals.]

You said he was your partner earlier - might I ask how so?

[Rossiu's quiet for a moment longer before he turns to Hodaka. Though his expression has softened a bit from the steely gaze he was leveling at the hostages, he still seems as extremely serious as always.]

Hodaka. My apologies, I should have greeted you earlier.

Me too... I wasn't really expecting it when I called in, but I'm very relieved. [ Hodaka...catches the look on her face, as she looks at Rain. ] Would you like to pet him? When he's done eating, of course.

She’ll take everyone in there out if she gets the idea it’ll do her any good.

While it is unfortunate he doesn't have any more information about the vending machine, it is good that he's unharmed.

[That's the most important thing, after all! As for that, though...]

Perhaps the garden will serve as a suitable substitute? While it isn't true sunlight, the plants do seem to be doing fine in there.

[Though Rossiu knows next to nothing about plants so maybe there's more to it that he's missing.]

[He certainly does; Adaman pauses a bit as he just kind of studies Forrest, brows knitting just a bit before he focuses his gaze back on the people beyond the glass.]

I understand; I simply wanted to make sure of it, my friend. [...] I am...anything but; I did not want to see my sister again under circumstances like these. To think that he'd sink to this, it's...sickening.

[He lacks the confident, bombastic sort of bite he usually has; if anything his told feels cold. Furious, if tiredly so.]

...If it is not too personal a question, who...among yours, was forced into this?

[Obi has absolutely never once sounded this grim in the time these people have known him.]

I won’t let her hurt any of them.

[ Once he finishes eating, Rain begins the process of after eating; that is, licking up all the food that he smeared on his face. ]

There's some they can...but ultimately they're carnivores. And most of the meat or fish here's been prepared with more human touches.
