Week 6
Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.
Another week at the bottom of the sea. You may start to mark the passage of time by the increasing number of people you seem to be bleeding each week - look how few of you there are now. Nearly half your number gone, and for what? The shadowy machinations of some madman? You've met some others, but they seem unable or unwilling to solve this problem for you. Time marches onwards.
In the abyss, New Rapture starts to wake. It's small things, for now - the lights of a building here and there, the flicker of a neon sign for some small business. The restoration of this city continues.
Speaking of this city, there's a new branch of your little slice of it to explore. It's certainly the most picturesque of the branches you've seen.
There's more to see and do, citizens of New Rapture. And hey, there's coins to get, too.

SUNDAY
???
Remember that window in Fontaine's apartment? There's a whole host of large cracks, spiderwebbing across it. It must have been hit by a firework or seven, you can see the point of impact.
If you want a way in for some mischief, or to look around? This is your shot. Take some time to plan, if you like, then head in for a little investigation! ]

[ Mielle cautiously leans over to peer in, peeking past the cracks to see if there's anybody inside she can spot. ]

Sure. Okay. There's an aquarium under the fucking ocean. Of course. He's going to walk through and just kind of like... shaking his head at everything that exists under the fucking sea. Though maybe he'll try and see if there's anything he recognizes? Or anything that anyone else recognizes. He'll be fine, he can handle Animals if he needs to investigate. ...he is actually genuinely pretty charmed by Gary though, he's going to hang out and watch the smiley little lad for a morale boost.
The nature preserve is, at least,... nice? They're nice. It almost feels like he's actually outdoors, and he might... add a nice little jog to his routine. Not today, though. He's had enough excitement for one day. And yesterday. Well. Friday. He heads back to his room and changes into something a little more comfortable like, say, the damn margaritaville shark hawaiian shirt and some lighter pants, gets a book about weird fucked up historical weapons that made no sense, and just kind of sits by the lake to read.
At the end of the day, he's going to go ahead and try his luck with vending-chan. He gets... some interesting items, and the mood returns to bafflement. What... does he do with any of these...????]

INVESTIGATION
After...all of that, Brett returns to sit in the garden. He's beneath a tree, knees drawn up to his chest, sort of watching Blake Bortles swim around in the pool and sort of just...staring blankly into space. It has been one day since four people died and today has already been so much!
He's humming slightly, under his breath:]
To live is to feel every ache that you feel...
[Eventually, he rallies. Picking himself up, he wanders off to check out the new areas.
The aquarium is obviously interesting. Not so much for the living fish; he normally likes aquariums, but after being here for so long, it's sort of lost its appeal? But he figures someone must be feeding these guys something, and after a bit of digging...yes! A big freezer full of some kind of raw dead fish!]
I would've thought this was gross before.
[His personal metric for what's gross and what's bearable is shifting a bit lately for some mysterious reason? He tosses Blake a fish.
Later in the evening, he goes out without Blake. He'll just be laying on the ground in the arboretum, staring up at the tree branches. It's all wrong: fruit trees, a temperate environment. Unfocus his eyes a little, though, and it could almost be like home. Like the woods.
After a while, he'll get up and walk through the trees for a little while - investigating, sort of. How cultivated is it in here, still?]

MONDAY
investigation!
It's afternoon by the time he makes his way out to the new area; it's nice and warm and he's wearing a dress he doesn't care about, and eventually, somehow, he finds himself standing waist-deep in the lake, letting his hands swirl little patterns through the water. This feels much more familiar, he thinks as he slips under, not like the chemicals and chlorine in the pool; it feels better here. He's going to do his best not to get hit by a damn boat, and just...spend some time to himself.
Granted, he'll have to get out eventually, and that's when he finds himself at the teahouse; he's not really respecting the place all that much because he admittedly isn't too sure what it is - it strikes him oddly but pleasantly, the sensibilities somewhere between Nohr and Hoshido, and even though he's about as soaking wet as Hodaka was when he arrived he still seems interested in looking around. Might as well do a little investigating while he's here.]

Hey, buddy. You got a name?
[But given that she now has a veritable menagerie, Joy heads to the pet store to get Rain some food and see if there's any toys he or Piglet want. The skeleton is holding all their "purchases," because Rain brought over a toy and the skeleton buddy decided to hold it, so now Rain and Piglet are playing a game where they see how many things their new friend can hold at once.
Later on, Joy can be found in the lobby with a little skeleton man on her shoulders, who is busy scribbling over Seo's face in black marker. She loves this. This is great. This is her new best friend.]

He heads to the aquarium, because it's easily the most interesting place Fontaine's added so far.]
...I can't tell if this place is redundant or ironic.
[Y'know, on account of the whole. Ocean. Thing. Clearly this doesn't affect Misfire's enjoyment of the aquarium, because he ends up spending a whole lot of time here - either watching the jellies in a hypnotic trance, delightedly observing the lizards (they're like smaller, fleshier Grimlocks), or...trying to pet the sharks. It's probably fine? What's a little potential biting between friends.
He does make it back out with both arms in tact, and goes to enjoy the arboretum. He looks up the trees, seemingly deep in thought.]
I bet you could get a good view of this place from up there...or have an exciting game of 'the floor is a smelting pool'.

TUESDAY
MOTIVE: It's just an excuse men use to kill each other.
Meeting room. Half an hour. Be there or be square. Or, for those of you who don’t speak Fontaine’s weird fifties bullshit: just be there.
[ Upon filing into the room, the screens are no longer showing the silhouetted visage of “Mayor Fontaine.” Instead, they’re all showing this screen, on a loop. Once everyone is in the room, The Mayor speaks up. ]
First order of business: reintroductions. I’m your Mayor, I’ve been your Mayor the whole time, I still want you to kill each other, I just don’t sound like a New York dock worker anymore. I understand this may be upsetting, so this week mommy tracked down a present for each of you.
[ The mirrored wall flips to a one-way mirror once again, and you see… well, the opposite of the first motive. A number of high-tech bulletproof glass cells enclosing each of your worst enemies from home. ]
You have no love for these people. You can probably assume by now that I’m not about to love these people. Kill by Friday and I’ll take care of all of them for you. Your move.
[ The figures remain, for the rest of the week, visible but not interact-with-able, same as the first motive. ]

investigation!
...If someone were to act on this, would you die, Nia?
[It's a quiet question, asked once he thinks he's alone, but one that's... perhaps surprisingly, completely lacking in any emotion.
Later on, after dealing with the usual coins, Rossiu's got another yard sard set up outside of suite 4. Swing on by if you want some random stuff! Feel free to handwave this if you want, just let me know what you're taking. Alternatively, you can venture into suite 4 and find Rossiu in room c; the door's slightly open if you want to speak with him and it's not like he'll mind much... but he's currently watching the at-home planetarium project stars all over his walls. Despite the fact that this probably should be relaxing, Rossiu doesn't look relaxed at all. Then again, it's Rossiu. What were you expecting.
But Rossiu can't sit still for long, so it's off to the pet boutique for some investigating. He thankfully did not bring Leafeon so the Pokémon will not have to deal with broken glass, but what's up with that huh!! Is it at least out of the way so no one will hurt themselves on it?]

You can especially find Floyd at the aquarium! He's practically in there for a couple of hours checking out all the fish. Especially the moray eels! He's got the tank lid opened up, and he's absolutely petting them and feeding them despite those sharp teeth! Perhaps they sense a kinship with him.
Later on, you can find him swimming in the lake! While he still is in a more human form, chlorine probably isn't the best for him. Catch him swimming around a bit!
After his swim, you might catch him in the arboretum. Or- wait, where is he? Is that snoring?
...He's absolutely taking a nap on a decently high up tree branch like some sort of sloth. This is fine.
After all this, you can find him in the kitchen, cooking up some food for himself! And boy does it smell good! ]

After that, she makes her way to the Aquarium, where she can be found admiring the fish-- up until she sees the shark tank. That spooks her, and she sprints the fuck out of there.

The tea house seems like a better idea than a pet store, and she ducks into there, and finds herself a spot underneath the counter to hide out. She's paler than usual, forcing herself to breathe regularly-- and mumbling to herself.]
You kicked his granddaddys ass, you kicked his ass, it's gonna be okay---

Are you really going to just stand there?
As opposed to what? I suppose I could sit.
[A man and a woman stand on the lakeshore - well, no. The man is standing. The woman has seated herself in one of the boats the lake has provided in case anyone wants to enjoy a boat ride.]
I'm sure sitting in the boat would be much more enjoyable.
Where I'm sure you will want me to do all of the rowing, again?
Ah. I knew that concern would resurface.

So, that's why Hild finds herself in the patio, standing on top of one of the tables with her arms crossed and staring towards the middle of the pentagram. Her heels are on the ground (because that sounds like a recipe for disaster), and the table has a collection of what looks like different magic circles; the intricate linework and indecipherable writing seems to be structured around a familiar five-point shape.
Once she's done trying to figure that out, though, she spends a brief amount of time in the meeting room, squinting at a blue-haired woman with a pretty large staff in tow. ]
I guess there needs to be some kind of literal presence here for it to work, huh.
[ She sounds a little annoyed by the whole idea of it.
Later into the night, she can be found in the nightclub, sitting at the bar with a pretty sizeable bottle of sake sitting next to her. She's got a small cup in hand, using her free hand to wave at whoever ends up approaching. ]

Later on, Misfire heads over to the meeting room. Armed with an otamatone and a permanent marker, he decides to do what he should've done days ago; vandalise Tarn's face through the glass, and play his theme song loudly and terribly.
Now that's justice.
Even later on, he's at the aquarium again, just hanging out. Those jellyfish? Absolutely mesmerising. He's been sat there in silence for...minutes.]

Quite ironic, don't you think?
[This is... normal? I suppose it could be worse for Jonathan.
For most of the day after, you can find him in the Tea Room, where he has frankly spent most of his days since it opened up. He has a sizable stack of books he's reading through as he drinks tea, but every now and again he pulls a piece of fabric from his jacket that he just... stares at longingly.
Later that evening, you can find Jonathan in the nightclub, drinking a glass of wine and writing in his journal. He seems a little nervous, sometimes looking over his shoulder as he takes a drink.
It was Thursday night. He was starting to get very familiar with the implication of the day.]

At Dracula. He is also, occasionally, speaking to Dracula. The first attempt is a genuine attempt at communication, and as such he does it at like 3 in the morning. From behind, it looks very stupid — Nandor, in one of those vending machine capes, with both hands held up beside his face, his arms vaguely trembling as he attempts to do whatever the fuck it is he's attempting. From the front, it also looks very stupid. His tone of voice is simultaneously commanding and ridiculous. ]
... Dracula. Count Dracula. Count Dracula. Do you heeeear me? I am calling to youuu through the aether. Answer me. [ There's a beat. Still in the hypnotism voice: ] Are you being a dick about this?
[ Later on, however, as the Mayor-designated morning nears, it seems like more like he's just ranting to no one and using the guys in the box as a sounding-board. ]
... gives a fuck what their take is? They are not here, so they do not get a say in what I do or do not share, because their lives are not in imminent danger every Friday!
